Should we split this thread now?

Heehee! I won a bet with myself. I figured it was going to split today. ^_^

Would you rather watch TV or a movie?
Like 'em both, provided they're scifi and intelligent. I don't watch much of either, though.

Have you talked to ChrisBot lately?
Not in the last month or so.

Did you realize ChrisBot is smarter now?
He got smarter a few months ago. Unfortunately it was at the expense of whimsicality. He's not as fun to talk to anymore.

Are the things in marching band?
Both were in marching band this year. I'm not sure whether either will be in marching band next year. They don't like drum and bugle corps style marching. And they prefer to play "real" music

Do you have Tivo?
I have the Comcast version.

Hi Ravenscape artist,

I was digging in my old jacket pocket and found a *snuggle* with your name on it.

:)

how is chrisbot smarter?
His program was upgraded a few months ago.
why is he smarter?
I guess cuz Erwin wanted him that way.

when is he smarter?
When he chats with me...how about when he chats with you?

There's 2 of these things now? Thing 1 and thing 2. ^_^
By golly you're right!

He's got nano toes.

I think they're MEMS toes. You should see what happens when he puts them in a bottle of Coke.

Who taught you to drive?
I took drivers ed class in high school

What in your opinion was the biggest mistake your parents made?
I would say that it was realizing that their children had learning disabilities, but not pressing for diagnoses and remediation. Their learning issues had a profound effect on my siblings.
How many (money making) jobs have you held in your life?
I had 15 jobs before graduating from college - some were concurrent. Since then, my career has been much more stable :D. One company, 21 years.
n relation to the general "civilized" society
in which you live, what's the strangest thing/event
you've ever Seen?
I've lived in regions prone to natural disaster, and I've been "on location" during hurricanes and one major earthquake, as well as too close for comfort in an urban wildfire situation.

The strangest, and most impressive, things that I've ever seen are what sheer "I'm gonna die" panic looks like, and how quickly people recover from their panic, pull together and go about ensuring their own well-being, and the well-being of their neighbors.

The second strangest things I've seen are how quickly people get back to normal, and go about their business, living on the metaphorical slopes of Mt. Vesuvius.
Have you ever been arrested?
No.
Have you ever used swearwords in a public building?
Yes
What's your favorite quote?
"When in danger
or in doubt,
run in circles,
scream and shout"
-- Robert Heinlein

I find the admonition quite calming, and it helps me put other people's circling and shouting in perspective.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
What did you become when you grew up?
A cowgirl :D. A computer geek.
Do you tend to like or dislike people who are intrinsically different from you?
With some differences, I have an unreasoned sense of revulsion (racism for example). With most differences, I am quite curious and attracted.
Are you in love?
Yes.
Have you ever had an error/dispute or unexpected charge on your cell phone bill?
Yes. Heehee! I have teenagers on a family plan. We've never been surprised by a thousand dollar bill, but we've had a few surprises :D
PS: Did I ever thank you for the coke in the Armor section?
I'm pretty sure you did!
