Jesus always advocated non-violence resistance, of that we can be sure. As for war and the political system that supports it “Thou shalt not kill” condemned that at the outset. Always peace and disarmament have to be the outcry of Christians making politics to run contrary to the Kingdom of God. The example began at the beginning of the age of the Gentiles when Daniel was given privilege to look into the Kingdoms of the world. Or Samuel’s description of the demands a King would have on the people. Obedience in the book of Daniel drew a fine line between servile obedience that defined the law while obedience to God had a cloud of witnesses testifying that God is with those who are with Him.
God grant us the wisdom to know the difference.

My concern is that politics are a trap. Instead of us changing the world; the world ends up changing us. Instead of being content, and not worrying about life, we end up arguing over economics. We believe we are defending the poor, or freedom, but we end up arguing over economics and thats not what the Lord taught us. Instead of arguing economics we should be teaching others by example to be content and not worry about things like food and clothing, money, or anything else, but to seek the kingdom first and God will supply our needs.. But what example are we teaching by? What light are we shining? Is it light or darkness?

Naturally. The self serving will of man mirrors that of the Adversary. It is the default setting of this world. No one is safe, no institution including religion is safe from it's effects. We were quarantined here to keep it isolated.
But no need to hide ourselves away, for we have been given the Kingdom, an alternative to the will of man and our mentor the Adversary. We can be in the world but not of it. We only need see the uselessness of the ways of man and change to the will of God, the default setting of the Kingdom.
We become outcasts, spiritually rebellious to the system, mocked and discredited, surviving by serving others as we would be served. Not often the charitable are abused by any system and if a life is lost because of it, the flesh may be gone but the spirit is still saved. By rejection of the self serving will of man, we have found a way out.
