Hurrah! The Admin speaks!

I have a question about miracles. It's a strange question but serious.

there have been people in the past that i have prayed to and layed hands upon for God to bring healing upon them. These people were afflicted with sickness and as i layed hands on them, i asked Him to heal them. Rather i begged Him to heal them.

As far as i can examine my motives and myself, i didn't doubt. in fact, i was literally waiting for Him to heal them instantly. But nothing happened. I waited and prayed and still nothing happened.

Now i got no idea what God does to heal them, i just asked Him to heal them.

Anyone have any ideas? I appreciate long posts cause i really don't have wisdom on this subject.

Read this and maybe more of the context:

Acts 3:3-6
3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us." 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."
NKJV

There is a certain sense about it that Peter was not being Peter as this unfolded. It did not depend so much on anything, as it was bound to happen in spite of anything.

I hope that helps.

I have just been personally studying this and I have learnt so much!!

Faith is the key.. our faith in God and what He has said to us.. faith comes through hearing what He has said and standing on the Word of God.. If God says something to us.. we must believe it.. confess his Word out loud and thank Him for answering us... I am still learning.. but I guess.. if one keeps asking over and over they must not think God heard them... We must ask.. then believe.. and then stand on what we have asked for.. believing what we don't see.. until God brings it to pass.

You don't need to beg... you just need to stand in confidence before God and ask for what You desire and then believe.. I think all of us have doubts.. but when we confess the Word of God out of our mouth.. we are not standing on what we feel or think or how it looks. We are trusting in God and what He said..

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

I am reading a good book called.. Classic sermons by Kenneth E. Hagin.. it has so increased my faith to really read Gods Word and see exactly what He has promised to those who believe!! We truly can do all things through Christ who gives us His strength!!

I encourage you to search the bible.. and find scriptures that you want to see become truth to you.. then hide them in your heart, pray them, believe on them and see that God doesn't increase your faith and bring those promises into being for you!!

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

All things through Christ ~ even lay hands on the sick and they will get well...

Hi , Great Question

First i would like to say dont be discourage and let the devil plant his seed of doubt into your faith,

The first thing you must realize is this, God does all things by his will, not by our will.

Mark 16:18
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover

Here in Mark we see God telling us this very important scripture, note how it was said they shall recover, it doesnt mean instantly but it is saying over a time but it will happen, Faith must be the centre of the focus.
Yes God can heal instantly and does at his will, but the important factor is Faith.
Another important thing to remember is not focus on the illness or the person but to focus on God and allow God to use you and God will be able to flow thru you into others.

I have been once by the Laying of hands instantly and had to hang on by faith to keep the healing for the devil tries to take it away,
The other time when a brother was in "groaning of tongues" and i was healed , also he had no idea this was happening.

Healing can come in different ways but it is all by Gods will.
Another part of the equation would be if the other person lacks in faith that can stop the flow of God working,( that has stop me many times my faith alone in recieving healing ). For me i placed all faith in these 2 things, By his stripes we are allready healed, & We have power over the devil and dont have to take it. Thats what has unblocked the channel of healing for me.

We see Jesus healing by laying of hands and the prophets instantly and also by word of mouth and the key is FAITH. the ppl that were healed all believed it would happened and also the the woman who touched Jesus robe who had a blood issue, so by these examples its all down to us.
There are many more scriptures in healing and i wish i had more time to get them, and if you need or want more please ask.

So i hope you can now see that it is a step of faith to recieve and to ask God to heal, God can and will work if we will let him.

Smith Wiggleworth is a great man of healing and has many books on healing which i have read, So i recommend that you take a look at books.

I do i hope i have encourage you

God Bless.
You can Pm anytime if you have any further Question or post them here

I was a little curious as I read your post...
If you were sure the person was going to be healed, then why the begging?
Just a thought.

Exactly the same thing I was thinking Dids...

If one had to "beg", would that mean one's trust isn't complete, believeing that God might or might not heal? So that would suggest a degree of doubt however minute, doubt's still doubt. No?

Yes my thoughts indeed,

But to beg he might be meaning to plead his case to God so we should find out what he really means by when he begged

I do concur....

So Shaky, in what sense of the word "beg"?

(Scripture comes to mine. I remember what Jesus said when He and His disciples came to the fig tree. A demonstration of what the words of the mouth coupled with an unwavering belief in your heart can do.)

2 Chronicles 16:12
12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the LORD , but only from the physicians.

Hi there

We need to trust completely in God for healing- not half and half doctors and God. Maybe those folks were just chancing their mit so to speak- (hedging their bets). My auntie had that testimony, when she turned from reliance in the corrupt world system and turned to the Lord she got healing for her eyes and didnt have to wear spectacles any more. This is a big step Im not advocating everyone throwing away their pills but if you trust God in the little things then you can move on in faith to the bigger things. Its sometimes also better to take action rather than words because everyone will be judged on their words.

Hope this helps

Wow thanks for the responses.

Just to clarify, i meant beg as in i really really wanted Him to heal them.

K now get this. i can understand why most of them didn't get healed, because as far as i know, they weren't christians. but one guy was a christian and he firmly believed that he would be healed. I spoke the word, asked Him to heal. I had faith, belief, no doubt in sight and nothing happened.

Now dont' get me wrong, i'm cool with nothing happening but what really surprised me was why it didn't happen. I know i don't heal, i know only He does, in fact, as far as i can examine myself, see myself, scripture and how God works, i still don't understand why he didn't heal them.

And don't worry, i'm not going to stop them going to the doctors and stuff, i know God puts doctors here for a reason but some of these sicknesses were beyond help from doctors.

Okay, maybe i'm just getting paranoid or starting to wonder too much but really, i wanted to see God heal them. Maybe i doubted somewhere, maybe they did i don't know.

God blessed me by healing a puppy the other day. I stepped back and the puppy was behind me and I stepped on him. He hopped away with one hip sticking up in the air at a bad angle. I cried with the puppy's pain, picked him up and prayed that he be healed in Jesus' name. I put the puppy in a warm spot and went for a walk. When i got back the puppy was playing with the others.

It was not the puppy's fault. If God looks after the birds of the field, then a puppy is no problem. I prayed in Jesus' name. I rested in my trust of Him. Thank you Lord.

I was diagnosed with spina bifida mylomeningocele.

Spina bifida is a birth defect mylomeningocele is the severity of the defect mylo. is the most severe.

I am almost 38 years old I and others have been praying for years for my healing.

Last week I went to the ob and she did a complete exam on me. April 11 2005 the doc. upgraded my defect from mylomeningocele to occulta witch is the least
severe. Praise God I am being healed from this horrible defect.

My point is you pray and let God worry about the outcome. It may take days, months or years. You ask and let God do the work.

Sharky, all I can say is I sympathise, and I'm glad I'm not the only one around here driving themselves insane!

I know Jesus can heal, I know He does, I know He says He will.
I am just not there yet and it's tearing me apart, but I am seeking the Lord in this until I get there or die, whatever comes first!

(Take a look around the Word Of Faith subforum for some excellent and helpful responses to similar questions.)

Bless you, love Susana

well, I'm heer to testify to a miracle. Healing.

And it's not a friend of my aunt, either!! LOL
It happened to ME.
It happened Easter Sunday.
We had Communion Service, followed by Foot-Washing.
(my first foot-washing service)
.....Lil history... shattered my right heel 3yrs ago, jumping down from bleachers to git Hank III's autograph (I know, too old fer such folly!!)
Been walking with a limp ever since.
Since Easter evening, I haven't even slightly limped!!
Live in a mobile home. Normally i have to go up and down the steps like a child. Stepping so both feet are on steps with each step. NOT NO MORE!!!!
Ankle is still slightly stiff (just from not being able to bend it for so long), but no PAIN!!!!!!
God still does miracles......He just don't spend so much in advertising any more!!! LOL
That's our job!!!
