Dear ones, let us pursue the love of Christ.
For we heard what apostle Paul, Silvanus and Timothy said to us:
“Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;”
I Thessalonians 4:1 NKJV
Dear ones, let us abound more and more on how we ought to walk. So how we ought to walk? This is what we have heard:
“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
Ephesians 5:2 NKJV
Dear ones, let us abound more and more walking in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. So dear ones, let us be an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Dear one, let us in this manner, pursue the love of Christ.
And how we should desire spiritual gifts?
Dear ones, when we desire something! Don’t we keep thinking and take delight what we desire?
So dear ones, let us desire the Holy Spirit’s gifts, that we have heard in the Holy Scriptures.
How should we take delight in the gifts of the Holy Spirit? This is what we have heard:
All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as He wills. -1 Corinthians 12:11
Dear one, since the operation of the gifts are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one of us as the Holy Spirit wills, the manifestation of the gifts are the work of the Holy Spirit. So dear ones, it is the Holy Spirit’s mighty works or His marvelous works which we take part as His vessel for mighty works.
For this is what we have heard:
Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all His wondrous works! -1 Chronicles 16:9
Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! -1 Chronicles 16:10
Dear one, let us tell Holy Spirit’s wondrous works in us, that we may glory in His name. Let tell the Holy Spirit’s wondrous works in those who came before us, and let us glory in His holy name. For we heard:
so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. -Romans 12:5
Likewise, this is also what we have heard:
but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD." -Jeremiah 9:24
So dear one, let us boast the Holy Spirit’s wondrous works in our lives, that we understand and know Holy Spirit, that He is the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these Holy Spirit delights; For He has declared.
So dear ones, as we pursue the love of Christ and desire spiritual gifts, let us declare His wondrous works and glory in His holy name.
For we heard our Lord Jesus Christ have said:
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; -Mark 16:17
they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover." -Mark 16:18
Dear one, we who glory in His name are those who believe in His name so surely these signs will accompany us as our Lord Jesus said.
So dear one, let us who seek the Lord rejoice, for we seek His wondrous works, and tell His wondrous works and glory in His name by singing praises to Him.
This is how we desire spiritual gifts, that bring delights to the Holy Spirit.
When the Holy Spirit is delighted in us, He wills to give, empower and apportion to us, He will cause growth of the body for edifying of itself in the love of Christ.
To God be all glory and praise forever and ever. Amen.
