  2. I just wanted to share something my fiance' came up with. She is a jewelry designer and has a shop with her daughter. They asked if I had an outlet for some of their items and I told them I would share it with everyone here at CF. So I started them an Etsy Shop account to showcase what they have done. And this is the first items! Check it out and let me know what you think!

    Thanks so much! - Rex

    Percentage of US population

    Christian 76.5
    Non-religious/secular 13.2

    Agnostic 0.5
    Atheist 0.4

Tell me something, clirus. Are you suggesting that 14% of the population holds so much power as to be dangerous to the other 86%?

Specifically, which media outlets are targeting atheists/secularists? How would a major media corporation survive by appealing to only 14% of consumers?

    Response
I have seen those numbers before, and if they were true, one would wonder how Atheism got such a hold on America.

I believe the answer lies in the concept of CINO, Christians in Name Only.

I believe a lot of people call themselves Christians because they want the concept of God of Love. When they come to sections of the Bible such as Roman 1:26-32, "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. ...", they ignore that section.

I heard a CINO preacher basically call Paul a fool for the position on women as described in Ephesians 5:22: "Wives, submit yourselves unto your husbands, as unto the Lord, For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body."

Many CINOs believe socialism is a Christian concept. Socialism and Christianity cannot coexist because Socialism requires you give allegiance to the government and Christianity requires you give allegiance to God.

There are at least two areas that separate Christians from CINOs.

Inerrancy of Bible - If the Bible is not absolutely correct, then it is absolutely worthless. I have seen unanswerable questions raised about the Bible, but I have never seen anyone prove the Bible to be incorrect. If something is 99% perfect and there is 1% unanswered, I will accept it as 100% correct.

Righteousness of God - God is a God of Love, but God does not accept sin. Jesus knew the heart of the people who brought the woman accused of adultly. Jesus did not accept adultly, He told the woman to go and sin no more. God does not accept divorce. God stated he allowed divorce because of the hardness of peoples hearts. Too many people think the God of Love will not hold them accountable and there really isn't a place called hell.

The good news is that God will forgive sin if the person repents.

Should CINOs be removed from the church? The church needs to preach to and teach to Christians, CINOs, and Atheists. No one should be turned away from the church. However, CINOs and Atheists should not be elected to leadership positions in the church nor to political positions of power. We are all aware of what happened when the Catholic church started letting homosexuals be priests.

Republicans have yet to prove to me that they really support Christian principles, but democrats have proven they do "not" support Christian principals. I believe only Christians have the moral qualifications to hold public office.

Since this is your thread, and you are allowing it to wander from the OP topic, let me ask you this. What moral principles are exclusive to Christians? Please list all of them. Thanks.

Clirus I don't know where you got those numbers from but they are dead wrong. Go to the GSS, it will have the most representative numbers available, I may post them here with a link when I get home later.

You have the right to be dead wrong. But that is not an excuse for being willfully dead wrong.

but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

    Response
Americans have the right to elect Christians, CINOs, Atheists, etc. That is what democracy allows. And the government should not have a test for qualification.

However, the American people have the right to elect Christians and thus the nation return to being a Christian Nation.

I believe only Christians have the moral qualifications to hold public office. I hope that other Christians (at least 51% of the nation) agrees and the congress becomes 66% Republican so that Constitutional Amendments like the one on flag burning will be passed instead of being defeated by democrats that still control 49% of the senate. The 2006 election is a time for Christians to return America to being a Christian Nation by removing democrats from office.

What on earth does a flag burning amendment have to do with Christianity?

...it's never been a Christian nation so it can't return to something that only exists in your imagination. No, what you want is to scrap the Constitution and create something new in in it's place. Something I suspect that will have YOU as what the "good citizens" of this country should all be like. You know? I think that's a great idea. You go somewhere else, set up your "Perfect Christian Nation" (tm) and in oh say...50 years? We'll compare how our two countries are doing. Doesn't that seem fair? After all you wouldn't want to build on something so filled with non-christian and CINO's would you? Hey! We can kill two birds with one stone (so to speak) if you and all those people who want to create a "Perfect Christian Nation" (tm) and support the war in Iraq moved THERE and set up your brave experiment! You could be a friend to Isreal, free up all those non-Christian soldiers who are dying over there so you can try and stripmine their rights here, and show the world what a true theocracy would look like in a part of the world where they think it's normal to judge others by what you believe! It's a win/win scenario! :)
tulc(soooo when can we expect you to move?) :sorry:

This may be a minority opinion (though I don't think it will be) -- but for being one of the few newspapers or media sources in this country who are willing to call this administration on its stuff and hold the President, the Administration and Congress accountable during a time of almost unprecedented corruption -- I think the New York Times deserves the Medal of Freedom!
