What in the world are you on about? No one's arguing against the City of Flint properly treating the water (as required by law) so that the lead and copper remain safely in place and don't go into solution in the water.

I think most people would consider the proper action would be to remove the contaminants.

To do less than that is risky and ultimately more expensive. And procrastination, because in the end the pipes will be replaced.
