If there ever was something to turn people away from religion or faith, it is the naked hypocrisy
of the religious right and their blind support for the current president. It's always been about power, the sanctity of life was never the goal.

It was actually a nice speech, the right tone etc. However he said something along the line of enabling women to give birth and care for the child which was a complete and total lie. He stuck to the script tho, so I'm sure he will get kudos and warm fuzzies enough to placate his supporters for a bit. I think it's going to be overshadowed by the government shutown coverage, tho.

It was covered live and in full on MSNBC where I watched it. If you are expecting it to take precedence over the possible government shutdown on the anniversary of Trump's first year in office, you will be disappointed.

well...first if you don't count President Reagan doing it while in office in 1987, or President Bush doing it in 2003. But yeah other then those two sitting Presidents, he's first.

Maybe the media isn't counting those because they were by phone? Tho Trump's was a livestream so not too much different. I was under the impression he was the first also.
