I have this idea/question about God. In books of the Bible, Jesus and the others talk about general social and moral decline on earth (from the Christian view it seems to stem only from more people disobeying only Jesus and the Christian belief specifically). Does anyone believe this means that not only does God the father know when the time of return will come, but God "himself" predestined the events of society falling away from Jesus' teachings before it can apply? Or is it not really predestined?

It also makes me want to ask why people who oppose abortion or any sin in society continue their activism instead of just accepting that it won't eventually fulfill an outcome of illegal/reduced abortion or any other ill, since I presumed them to believe more-or-less that there won't be a revival or awakening and that God has arbitrarily decided this time of humanity must be the end of the world. I also loathed that I and millions of others my age are seemingly picked to have been born so the "end" happens during our pre-60s-to-80s lifetime. But, at least my parents/grandparents didn't need to worry about this great bang disrupting them.

Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God incarnate? I ask this since you identify as a Deist. I think this will help some of us navigate our conversations in this thread.

Update:

I apologize, I didn't realize what forum this was in. Carry on.

I do acknowledge that Jesus is the son of God incarnate. I do the identification thing as Deist because I honestly also accept the possibility that God is a creator but is neutral and doesn't intervene on his creation. Clearly, I was still raised with belief in the former option that God does predestine our world to a degree. Also, I can't accept that God is either "wholly good" or "wholly evil", but is really neither of those extremes.

From God of the Bible, He says...

Philippians 1:6 (KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

...at least He is quite active in His New Creation.

Honestly, I'm being mad at God (Christian description) too. I'm not against faith or some of the other elements per-se, but I have been frustrated for a decade. People of the faith who said that I need to come back have bothered me, with their stubborn, almost indoctrinated pleading that this is the only way no matter what and that we should just accept the "higher knowledge" without questioning or unfavor. No, I decided that the way his design works is awful in which Satan has permission to control everything. And God desires standards of morality and temperament. According to God's true will, there are only two black-and-white binary options: good/evil, God/Satan, abstinence until marriage/fornication, and lastly everything is either "perfect" to his desires for us or everything merely imperfect is the same as sin. I can think of more of these.

I apologize if I just detoured the thread's purpose, but I'm taking a break on that part. I needed to vent and talk.
