Good evening, children of God. I'd like to offer up & request prayers for my history professor & his sister.

My history professor is a "recovering Catholic", who has completely fallen away from the Church & currently identifies as an agnostic. I've talked with him after class sometimes, and after I mentioned that I go to daily Mass, he talked about how he was more religious when he was my age. At another point, he mentioned that part of his apostasy was because of him learning more about the damage the Church has done over the years. I've given him a copy of the fantastic book "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization"; please pray for him (and all of us!) to learn the incredible history of our faith, the beauty of which far outweighs the damages. His family is still Catholic, and they all pray for him; he thanks them out of politeness, but has no interest in returning to religion.

I also include prayers for his sister. She's still Catholic, but doesn't live her faith. She owns 4 houses--3 lake houses in Michigan, and a mansion in Florida. Her brother (my history professor) is barely getting by, and could really use some financial help. His sister only offers prayers. (At this point, it's good to read James 2--it really highlights our duty as Christians). My professor is understandably upset about this; he would offer his family money if they were in a rough situation, and the one who's supposed to be Christian isn't helping at all!

What's worse? Someone who's fallen away, or someone who stays but makes Christianity look unappealing? (Again, please read James 2). Either way, these are 2 people who really need our prayers; thank you.

I should also point out that, because my school year just ended & I'll be transferring in August, I'll likely never see this guy again; please also pray for me to not lose hope!

Jesus told St. Faustina, "I desire that you know more profoundly the love that burns in My Heart for souls, and you will understand this when you meditate upon My Passion. Call upon My mercy on behalf of sinners; I desire their salvation. When you say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith on behalf of some sinner, I will give him the grace of conversion. This is the prayer: “O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You.” (Diary 186-187)

May God bless us all, especially those who have fallen away, those who struggle with greed, and all those with hardened hearts!
We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?
