Prayer service

Hello. I would like to see a "prayer service"
Started. It would be separate from the
Main service. Have on different eve.
I could see several ways doing it,
From a very low key, walk in event, to
A somewhat formal.
Communion may or may not be done.
They praying over (laying of hands)
And the anointing with oil can be done
By the laity from my reading.
We would work on everything from physical (but will not ask you to jump
Out of your wheelchair) to emotional.

I've asked at two church's I attend...even
Offered to organize/set up....no interest.

I read of other church's in the two
Denomations do it, so I don't think
I'm bringing up something new or
Different.

What could be the reason why not ?

Everybody does not do prayer services anymore. Years ago we used to have a mid-week prayer service (about 30 minutes).

My wife would like to see more attention to prayer in our church. It certainly seems that we have more and more to pray about. We currently have about 15 minutes of joint prayer in our Sunday morning services.

Is it important enough to you to change denominations ?
