You guys know me, I'm so reluctant to post prayer requests because I've been discouraged in my protestant years to think that they're a Christian form of gossip. So with that in mind, I'm coming to ask a very specific PR:

I need God's help with purity. My language has become terribly foul since converting, and I think I had some backwards logic in my head that Catholics aren't puritans to swearing isn't a big deal, and I've gone ham with my language ever since. I don't want to impart bad habits to my kids, fortunately I've done a relatively good job so far of keeping it clean around them and other family members, but it's only a matter of time before I slip and my almost-two-year-old drops an F bomb.

I also have been thinking so much lately about Our Lady of Fatima and her note to the seers that most of the souls in hell are there because of sins of the flesh. I struggle with things just like any guy, it's been an addiction for over 25 years now. If you can pray the Lord take that from me as well.

I wanna get back into the habit of daily rosary. I was doing pretty well with that during the first half of 2020 and there were a lot of dividends from that practice, but I fell out of it and now I hardly pray the rosary at all.

So purity: purity of language, purity of mind, purity of body, purity of faith. Across the board.

Thank you my friends, I appreciate it.

And since I need to work on praying more frequently myself, feel free to message me with any prayer requests of your own.

I prayed for you, that you return to purity, and avoid cursing.

We aren’t Puritans and we are not prudes but we are to be wholesome. And seeking purity. Particularly our sexuality is much more than ‘no’. It is really a ‘yes’ that is so much bigger than puritanical naysaying can imagine. We are open to life and love, which means not accepting the counterfeits of life and love.

I think you know what you have to do. I’ll pray for you today.

The Mass [Eucharist} and Rosary, said St Don Bosco, are swords.
IE keep the enemy at bay.

My daughter was 2 when she came inside and cussed up a storm because her dad was outside working on a car. :swoon:
Now my kids cuss because their dad does so.
Then I started but I reigned myself back in especially when my son said a few years ago it doesn't sound right coming from me.
It also doesn't reflect my walk with the Lord for them.

I use Youtube for the Rosary because I find it easier to have others praying with me.
My Daily Prayer on Youtube has Rosaries.
Plus they explain add the Gospel for each decade per the day of the week and I like that.
