Please pray for government and those in authority in New Zealand. Elections are coming up this year and many people don't know who to vote for, who to trust. Pray that God raises up who He wants in the parliament and cabinet. Pray that dirty politics are kept to a minimum, and those who have wicked, greedy, sinful motives are exposed.

Pray for the churches of New Zealand that we be as one in the Father.
Pray that budget be spent where it is most needed, for the poor and genuinely needy.
Pray for sustainable jobs. Pray for the women and children, for the widows, orphans. Pray for single mothers, estranged married couples, children from broken homes. Pray everyone knows which family they belong to and are loved and cared for.
Pray for our education system, that the teachers be godly and wise. Thank the Lord for his many blessings and for the abundance that we do have to reach out to others, even overseas.

Pray against racist attitudes. Pray for forgiveness and reconciliation between Maori and Pakeha. Pray for ethnic minorities that they don't feel left out. Pray for warm, welcoming hospitality, and homes built on rock. That NZers know that ultimately above all the God defending our nation is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, the Son of God and our Heavenly Father who is an awesome and almighty God.

Pray for contentment in wages and wages to cover the cost of living.

Also pray for those in domestic violence situations, that they have somewhere to go a safe refuge and a hope and a future.

Pray that every household has a Bible, that each one is touched with a hunger to know more of His Word.

Pray for those in Christchurch rebuilding their homes after the earthquake.
Pray for families still devastated by the Pike River mining disaster.
Pray for official nz standards to be reinstated for health and safety, building codes etc. Diverse weights and measures are an abomination to the Lord.

Pray the gay marriage/legalized prostitution laws do not become a snare to the vulnerable.
Pray that the p-drug rings are exposed and destroyed.
Pray that the casinos and speculative land investment rich foreigners buying up nz land is stopped. Pray that those dodgy trade deals are embargoed.

Pray for a sustainable economy where each nz born citizen has access to education, a home, and good job prospects. That is their heritage.
Pray that refugees and migrants are welcomed and become part of a family not used and exploited.

Pray for fruits of the holy spirit in the church to become ripe -love, joy, peace, faith, kindness, goodness, temperance, meekness, long-suffering so others can taste and see the Lord is good.

More prayer...Pray that school children don't go hungry by having a healthy hot lunch included in their school time, paid for by government. Many children go hungry as parents struggle to put food on the table and end up having soggy sandwiches or takeaway meals that are really unhealthy. Also this will cut down on truancy, if a child knows that going to school they will get lunch everyday. Pray for wisdom or those holding the social development ministry portfolio.

Pray for the police and justice system. Pray that police will be upright and punish wrongdoers, so that they will learn their lesson. Pray they be convicted not just on paper but in their hearts. Also pray for prisons and prisoners, that the prison chaplains can reach out to those in prison, that the gospel be spread, and when they are released they are able to start a new life and put the past and sinful ways behind. Pray for the alcohol and rehab centres. Pray for new hearts to be given to these people. Pray that elders can disciple them and love them into God's family.

Pray for the media in nz. Pray for christian radio, and christian broadcasters and journalists who are able to present the truth. Pray their messages get heard. Pray for the gospel to be spread through radio networks and tv. Pray that the church does not get distracted with 'christian rock' or 'pop christianity' that heavenly music is heard on the radio that uplifts and edifies and is a joy to hear. Pray that seekers will LOVE hearing spiritual songs and hymns because they are so different from the usual chants/noise heard on radio. Pray that people know that Jesus loves them because the Bible tells them so.

Pray for scripture translation and more maori audio bibles, and hymns in Maori. Pray for revival among Maori. Bind the strongholds of rebellion and witchcraft practicised by elders and tohunga. Pray against idolatry.

Pray for those in debt from student loans and unemployed. Pray for tentmaking skills and for elders to teach the young.

Pray for the town of Ashburton rocked by two shootings today.

Pray for WINZ workers, who are just doing their job.
Pray for those in homeless situations, that they find refuge and shelter and are able to get back on their feet again. Pray for the city missions who deal with homeless everyday, many who are struggling with mental illness. Pray they find deliverance and a friend in Jesus.

Pray for busy hard-working mothers, that they find the time to sit at Jesus feet, like Mary and learn from Him.

Pray that working dads be honoured double for their labour. Father's day is coming up so pray all dads feel blessed and know their children, that they aren't a burden but a blessing and a joy. Pray that the father's hearts are turned toward their children and the children toward their fathers. Pray that everyone knows that the Lord will provide everything, all our needs and we needn't work so hard.

Pray for days of rest and restoration, that Saturdays/Sundays be restored as a day of rest where nobody has to work if they don't want to. Pray for retail workers and small businesses that they get the breaks they need.

Pray for those baby boomers now receiving the pension, that it be enough to live on so they can rest and free up jobs for young ones who now are entering the workforce. Pray for kiwisaver, that the money being saved is invested wisely and those who need access to it can access it, and pray that it is all kept safe from evil.

Pray that voters will know who to vote for when they get to the voting booth and when we tick the box it will be for the person/party God wants most in that position of power. Pray for transparency in politics, that all the cards be on the table, that the only secrets and surprises be good ones. Pray for the visions, dreams and plans for this country over the next three years.

Unless the Lord builds the house, we labour in vain. Pray that the leaders consult Him in everything they do, so our paths will be made straight.

Pray for the new apprentices in the building trades. That they be taught well and become excellent builders. Pray that they be paid enough so they won't cut corners and stick to the building codes.

Pray for the farmers, that they enjoy spring now the frosts have passed. Pray for good weather and reassurance that everything will be fine. Pray for bumper crops.

Pray for the men's sheds. Pray that Jesus teaches these men and passes on his woodworking skills to others. Pray for the timber industry. Pray that the sustainable pine forest plantations yield good strong wood to be able to be fashioned into products that benefit not only this country but other countries.

Pray for safety on the roads. New Zealand has a high rate of driving accidents and terrible record of drunk drivers/speeders. Pray motorists will respect all those around them who need to use the roads as well, including cyclists. Pray for tourists that they feel safe and do not let them drive if they don't know the road code. Pray more people carpool in Auckland, where there is a lot of congestion during rush hour.

Pray that people find jobs closer to home, or home based roles. Pray for our train network to take the pressure off trucks. Pray for our ports, and ships. Pray that the Logos ship comes to Auckland.

Pray that pyramid schemes be stopped and people won't be held captive to extreme right wing ideologies. Pray that leaders will look at people as God's children, with body, soul and spirits not human resources/consumers/economic units/numbers/value for money.

Pray for CEO's and policy makers hearts to be convicted and changed once they see how greedy they are and how their policies are hurting the most vulnerable.

It just takes one person to stand for truth. Pray that people will learn from Jesus disciples, christian businessmen such as Robert Laidlaw and others who made an impact on the country who did not compromise their faith.

Pray for christian students as they start on their careers that they keep the faith and become salt and light in the workplace and society.

Pray for the largest ngo social service provider in nz the Salvation Army. Pray that they reach out to the poor with love.

Pray for dentists. They are just doing their job, but maybe they need a break too.
Pray that those with bad teeth are able to get the dental care at reasonable price. Pray to take away the desires for sugary foods. Pray for diabetics, a big health problem in NZ.

Pray that the campaign to ban sugary drinks and lollies sold at supermarkets or to children be effective in raising awareness. Pray for wisdom for parents in buying healthy food for their children.

Pray for those working in sugar plantations and refineries. Maybe they can't find any other work. Pray that sweet alternatives be found, like honey or stevia, or fresh fruit. Pray for beekeepers and bees. We need bees to pollinate our plants. Pray more people plant flowers so the bees will come and make honey for us.

Pray for our roads, and trees in urban areas. Pray that more people get involved in community gardens and looking after the environment. Pray that more fruit trees be planted so even poor people can harvest fresh fruit. Pray for plants with healing properties to be planted beside the roads. Thank you Lord for giving us wonderful trees and fruits.

Pray for more part-time jobs available for women. There used to be many and good hours to fit in school but now mothers are forced into full time work plus have to pay for childcare, for strangers to look after their children if they have no relatives/grandparents to look after them.
Pray that employers will be understanding. Pray for happy workplaces.

Pray that parties who promise much will deliver on their election promises, and not just turn around and do the opposite.

Pray for the Auckland city council. They are in debt $6.3 billion dollars. Pray this debt be wiped/forgiven. Pray the burden of debt does not fall on the next generation. Pray that the banks or rich people will have compassion, and look after the needs of the poor, not just themselves. Pray the leaders make wise decisions. Pray the mayor be convicted about his adultery and realise he was wrong,to abuse his position of power pray that he humble himself so he can be forgiven.

Pray that righteousness prevail over Auckland, that the strongman of pride is bound. Pray for the rich to humble themselves. We don't need an earthquake like Christchurch, but we need to wake up to our responsibilities to love each other and care for our neighbours.

Pray that those looking to be self-employed have the resources and are not stopped from trying to earn a living. Pray that money lenders and banks and loan sharks be bound. Pray against deceitful business practices. Pray that Auckland be known for something other than a commercial/merchant city, as a place just to make money, or a gambling capital. Pray that Auckland be known for it's beautiful trees, harbour and friendly, diverse people. Pray that people who say bad things about auckland not be so judgemental.

Pray for the parking situation..that the parking companies use their tremendous profits for good purposes. Parking fines and tickets and charges are crippling Auckland. Pray for better alternative transportation networks.

Pray for commuters on their way to work. In each car, maybe they are listening to radio. Pray that christian radio can get through, and messages about the Good News of Jesus even on secular radio stations. We've had enough bad news! Pray that people reading the newspapers be drawn to the text for today. It's right by the crossword, probably the only part of the daily paper that quotes the Bible.

Pray that newspapers devote space to more of the Bible and Good News.
Pray for christian businesses, using profits for the Kingdom.

Pray for the sistas conference in Auckland, a gathering of women from all different churches. Pray for true teaching and true revival, not hype. Pray those sisters who are lonely find real fellowship and other sisters to share the journey. Pray against wolves trying to fleece the flock.
