Please pray for France.

They are a good friend and ally of the United States, and have experienced a horrific terrorist attack in Paris.

This isn't the end, they'll be more. Sooner or later this is going to happen here in the US. I'm really hoping and praying that our country and our allies put political correctness aside and do what is necessary to keep us and our way of life safe.

In his Sunday sermon, head of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Ilia II, paid tribute to the victims of the Paris terror attacks, and also said that terrorism “has nothing to do” with Islam .

“There is a struggle between good and evil,” he said. “This [struggle] has always been ongoing, but it has been intensified recently… You know that a plane was blown up and we also extend our sympathy to the French people – there were lots of casualties [in Paris terror attacks]. We pray for them. There are people who relate these [terrorist acts] to religion, Islam, but in fact religion has nothing to do with it; a person expresses evil will.”

I'm quite anti Islam, but even I think this whole "evil of Islam" kind of thinking is far fetched when it comes to terrorism against random civilians.

If so why do they cry and mourn over their deseased children, wife's/ husbands or parents when they get killed in terror attacks in the middle east?

Why?
Because they absolutely hate terrorism that's why.
The majority of the victims across the globe who die in terror is muslims.
Dear I guess that maybe as much as 90 per cent of them are???

We are kind of far from Islam in about every matter of any significance except terrorism.
Fight of terrorism for ours aswell as theirs sake.

GZ, you do see a pattern here, right? Islam is evil. It is a heresy. It is inspired by the evil one. Why is it so difficult for people to identify evil in 2015? You have Orthodox Christians in here getting warm fuzzies with Islam and thinking it's just a small piece of the puzzle? You have Obama getting up there telling us Islam isn't the problem, that it's just a few nasty folks when in reality it's infinitely larger in scale and scope than he likes to believe in his lala land.

Are you ok with what Islam did to our Orthodox brethren de-Christianizing the Middle East over a period of centuries and conquering our ancient capital at Constantinople, subjugating our brethren and slaughtering so many?

Why can't people identify an enemy anymore and get some guts and do battle spiritually and physically?

achildofmary, as much as I'd like to avoid "politics" unfortunately, that's impossible. The politicians we elected into office are obligated to protect our country from all enemies, foreign and domestic. And unfortunately, it is through political means that this happens. Many of us in the US feel that our politicians have failed us in this regard.

This is, whether we like it or not, a political issue. It is also many other kinds of issues too (religious, economic, cultural, etc) but a political issue too nonetheless.
