  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Possibly offensive questions about heaven.

I wish I had a mod hat in real life, that'd be pretty cool.

I'd like to continue thanking everyone for their responses. Definately some great answers here for such picky questions.

Hello, this is my first post on this board so bare with me.
First you need to understand why mankind is blessed.
God made angels-demons from sprit and the animal kingdom from flesh. We differ because we are made in God's image and our essence is half sprit, half flesh. The Lord didn't just make us. He gave us all a tiny part of his sprit so that is our connection with him is more like a parent to a child rather than an artist creating his art with the brush on the canvas. Only beings of sprit can go to Heaven. Animals sadly, cannot go.
According to my understanding of the Bible, we will be beings of light. I think of Heaven and Hell as other dimensions that is not constrained by the laws of physics that govern our own dimension.
Maybe Heaven has it's own form of grass growing there.
Those who do go to Hell are the ones who rejected God.
Acts going against the Almighty's wishes such as murder are rejecting him. There are four major sins that cry out to Heaven.
The voluntary murder (Genesis 4:10)
The sin of impurity against nature –Sodomy and homosexual relations (Genesis 18:20)
Taking advantage of the poor (Exodus 2:23)
Defrauding the workingman of his wages (James 5:4)

To read these four sins shows us how many ways they can be broken with volantary murder for example. This includes abortion, euthanasia, wars of conquest and financual gain right down the criminal food chain to drug dealers blasting each other away in drive by's.
Those who go to Hell do it to themselves.
I am glad that you are searching for God so hang in there.
"seek and you shall find"
God bless,
Eire.

"My question involves heaven. Do animals go to heaven? What about plants and microscopic organisms?

No I don't think they go to heaven. They won't burn in hell either (that's good enuf for me!) Humans and fallen angels are the only creations of God that has fallen short of his glory. Animals and plants etc are sinless. lol imagine a plant trying to discriminate

Also, when you die, what do you look like when you go to heaven?

No idea but we will be given an upgraded body that isn't perishable...perfect I guess.

Would an unborn fetus be sent to heaven?

Yes

People always want to go to heaven, but what is it like in heaven?

Other posters have already described the biblical description.
I have heard and read testimonies from people who have actually visited heaven. They see colours we don't see on Earth and music that is not of this world. We will be doing work that we love. WE WILL NOT BE PLAYING HARPS AND SITTING ON CLOUDS

What do you actually DO in heaven? Is sinning allowed? CAN you sin in heaven? Are there consequences?"

We wouldn't have the ability to sin so no. Sin cannot exist there.

I want this thread to be open for discussion about the topic's questions.

This is not a debate forum, simply an "ask a Christian for answers forum'..

My question involves heaven. Do animals go to heaven?

Only if they come under the rook of the Lord in and through a believer!

What about plants and microscopic organisms?

Again, only if..

If they didnt believe in Jesus Christ because noone could communicate that message to them, would they be sent to hell?

Yes, but this is not the case, however..

Also, when you die, what do you look like when you go to heaven?

These bodies are but a shadow of our Glorified ones..
Similar, yes.

Would an unborn fetus be sent to heaven?

Yes.

Is heaven a place where you take a physical form?

Yes.

If so, would you look like what do did at the moment of your death, or moment of birth, or would you look like whatever you wanted to look like?

God gives us a body as He so desires.

People always want to go to heaven, but what is it like in heaven?

It's the Kingdom of God!
Teaching and Ministry is there, as well as singing and dancing before the Lord in the Holy Spirit

People always joke around about how "if there aint baseball in heaven, I aint goin" or something like that. What do you actually DO in heaven?

Fall down to our knees to worship!!!
Cast our crowns at His feet!
Sing His Praises all day long!

Visit other believers in thier rooms

Is sinning allowed? CAN you sin in heaven? Are there consequences?

No sin in the resurrected bodies! Ergo, no SIN!!!

state your denotiation (Lutheran, Methodist, etc).
Born again!

If you would like Scriptural references for any of the assertations I have made, I'd be more than happy to comply!

I am not offended by your host of questions, but I would have been disappointed if you had had no interest in heaven at all. Keep on seeking, only look with all of your heart for the truth and accept of nothing less.

This'll be a fun one. Let me give you my unfounded opinions:
Do animals go to heaven? yes.
What about plants and microscopic organisms? No.
If they didnt believe in jesus christ because noone could communicate that message to them, would they be sent to hell? no.
Also, when you die, what do you look like when you go to heaven? Just like we do but not older looking than about 35.
Would an unborn fetus be sent to heaven? yes
Is heaven a place where you take a physical form? If so, would you look like what do did at the moment of your death, or moment of birth, or would you look like whatever you wanted to look like?yes, at the moment of your death without the excess aging (wrinkles, teeth, hair, etc.)
What do you actually DO in heaven? Learn more about God. Maybe even explore the galaxies.
Is sinning allowed? No, but that won't even be an issue.
CAN you sin in heaven? No, but that won't be an issue.
Are there consequences? Won't be an issue.
I am a non-denomitation christian.

that was fun, thank you.

Life on earth is so compartmentalized. Thought, emotion, speech--all distinct sensations, but in eternity, they all blend together in a continuum. Thought is imparted, yet experienced as emotion and perceived as speech.

The book of Daniel and the beginning of Revelation both describe that "larger than life" experience in eternity. Truth be told, if a human in this life experienced all that eternity had to offer in a single instant, the person would die of shock. Both Daniel & John were awestruck by what they experienced of eternity, as was I.

As far as animals in heaven, John describes in his vision, "Then I heard every creature in heaven & on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing, 'To him who sits on the throne & to the Lamb be praise & honor & glory and power forever & ever!'" (Revelation 5:13)

The movie, "What Dreams may Come" (I think that's the title) starring Robin Williams presents a most imaginative representation of the wondrous experiences that await the children of God in Heaven. It will give you an inkling of what eternity is like, though I can't vouch for the theology (you'll know what I mean if you see the movie).

I will pray that the light of Jesus Christ may shine on you during your faith journey.

Grace & peace to you.

we can hope. King David's baby died. He has hope of seeing that baby in heaven. "But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me." 2 Samuel 12:23 The New Testament tells us David was also a prophet, Acts 2:29-30

I recommend seeking God also in answering all your great and hard questions. He gives the Holy Spirit to help us in prayers, if you ask and seek. Keep seeking
