While speaking about the gifts of women during an in-flight press conference on Sunday, Pope Francis mentioned the recent appointment of a pro-abortion economist to the Pontifical Academy for Life.

“I have seen that in the Vatican; every time a woman comes in to do work in the Vatican things get better,” the pope said Nov. 6 on the flight to Rome from Bahrain.

He mentioned several positions now filled by women, also citing, by name, pro-abortion economist Mariana Mazzucato.

“And now, I put on the family council Mazzucato, who is a great economist from the United States, to give a little more humanity to this,” he said.

I hardly know where to start.
1. Whether the position is filled by a woman or a man makes no difference.
2. What matters most are three important things:
A. Are they led by God in their thoughts and actions.
B. Are they looking to lead in holiness?
C. Or are they looking to advance their careers, and gain notariety for themselves?

A little more humanity from someone who thinks killing innocent human beings is a good thing. Isn't there an oxymoron somewhere in all of this?

Absolutely. How can people not see this?

"pro-abortion economist to the Pontifical Academy for Life"

Can someone explain to me again what the word Life means? I'm not really certain nowadays. Feels like God has thrown me in an alternate reality where everything is opposite.

Well, I would say that it's just one more example of His papacy being very different than was expected.
After all, instead of the announcement " Habemus Papem" being greeted by flights of doves, we were treated to the screeching of sea gulls.
After that happened, we should have expected things to be different.

You just said what I have been thinking for quite some time. At least I’m not alone. Thanks!
