From the beginning, the case of 10 month old Charlie Gard in the UK, whose parents have been denied permission by a court to pursue experimental treatment for mitochondrial disease in the U.S. Has stirred wide debate and alarm. Pope Francis waded directly into the discussion on Sunday, expressing hope that the parents' desires to 'care for their own child to the end' will be respected.

Please - this couple have tried - the doctor they wanted to see in the USA [ can't remember who and which Hospital ] did say that he could do nothing for little Charlie. If the Doctor they wanted to treat him - a renowned specialist in this treatment says he cannot [ not won't - cannot ] treat him - then who will/can ?

GOSH is an extremely good hospital - it takes on things/cases that others will not.

This poor wee child , even with all the equipment is probably too ill to be taken home even to die - it's probable he would not survive the journey.

The parents are with him night and day, he has the best care anyone can have - specialised nursing and medical care and his parents with him. The staff are very very caring .

May this little child rest safely in the care of Our Lord and Saviour.

When the time is right - the angels will take him to his eternal rest - free from all pain and suffering

just picked up now on the BBC

Charlie Gard: Boris Johnson says baby cannot be moved to Vatican - BBC News

<<It is impossible for terminally ill Charlie Gard to be transferred to the Vatican's children's hospital for treatment, Boris Johnson has said.>>

also from this article

<<
Lord Winston told ITV's Good Morning Britain courts and doctors should not be interfering with the parents' wishes, saying the loss of a child was "about the worst injury that any person can have".

But he added: "These interferences from the Vatican and from Donald Trump seem to me to be extremely unhelpful and very cruel, actually, because this child has been dealt with at a hospital which has huge expertise in mitochondrial disease and is being offered a break in a hospital that has never published anything on this disease, as far as I'm aware." >>

Lord Winston does have medical qualifications which , as far as I know Mariella Enoc does not.

Could we now please just support this family in our prayers .

Lord have mercy
