You don't know what you're talking about

Pope Pius XII saved 250,000 Jews during WWII, hiding them in the Vatican and elsewhere.
Having been critically important in helping Hitler into power and then sitting on his hands for years while the series of anti-Semitic regulations and laws were being launched in Germany by the Third Reich, Pius XII finally did something, if very belatedly and rather quietly. That's right.

Republicans are prolife so I don’t really see how that applies.

Except when it comes to fighting COVID-19. 228,000 dead in the US alone and a Republican President and Senate who do virtually nothing to save these people. How is that pro life?

You are also using mainstream media for your info on sex abuse by priests, which has been flawed since day one.
Do you think the thousands of cases that have been prosecuted and the enormous payments of damages to victims by various dioceses, such that some have had to sell off property, are just journalistic speculation?

In the past they didn’t have the votes to overturn Roe v Wade. Now with Barrett on the courts they may have those votes. So we shall see what the future holds for this.
Republicans had the legislative votes FOR SEVERAL YEARS to make abortion illegal or at the very least restrict it so heavily they would have been reduced from 1 Million/year to under 50,000... yet they did NOTHING.

NOTHING.

That should be unacceptable to ANY pro life Christian, and grounds to never vote for that party again.

Not true.

Read the book, "The Myth of Hitler's Pope," by Rabi David G. Dalin.

The author presents why it's flawed history to blame Pope Pius XII for Hitler or the Halocaust.

As it was, his predecessor, Pope Pius XI, spoke out against Hitler when he sent troops into Holland. The Bishops of Holland quickly went to the Pope and told him to be quiet about it, as they were hiding Jews in the convents and monasteries. Unfortunately, the Bishop of Poland protested Hitler's invasion, which ended up sending Nazi troops into the monasteries and convents to search for Jews. They found Sister Elizabeth of the Trinity, her real name was Edith Stein, a Jewish woman who converted to Catholicism and became a Carmelite Nun. They also found her sister. The three along with the Abbess of the convent were arrested and sent to Auschwitz where they died.

And the Republicans are responsible for this how?

We shall see that, after the criminal nonsense that prevented Garland from becoming a justice but rammed Barrett through, President Biden will "pack" the court and restore justice of, by, and for the people to prevail.

May God's will be done!

Well, that's not true. Mostly, this is fought out at the state level, and there have been innumerable attempts to lessen the disaster that is Roe v. Wade at the state level, usually spearheaded by Republican legislators.

And then the courts at various levels have struck them down, one after another.

Excuse me but wasn’t it the courts that passed Roe v Wade in the first place?

That is a judicial ruling on a piece of legislation created by Congress. Roe v Wade was 1) passed by Congress and 2) ruled legal by the courts.

Well, what percentage is considered to be acceptable to you? And does it matter that bishops and even the Vatican have covered for guilty priests? There is a lot more for the church to be ashamed of than can be avoided by pointing fingers elsewhere.

That is their function! The courts rule on the legality of various issues and ruled that Roe v Wade was (and is) legal.

Fine, but I was responding to the false claim that Republican office-holders have done "NOTHING" to try to reduce or eliminate abortion.

I don't think so. Without abortion, how the Republicans attract anyone other than the 1%?

They Can't.
Republicans REQUIRE abortion to remain legal, for once it is outlawed, they would never win another election.

Sure, they've nipped around the edges for show.... but they have never done ANYTHING to substantively reduce or eliminate legal, on demand abortion in this country, when they ABSOLUTELY could have.

As was posted earlier, this is a cold, hard fact.

By allowing Trump to deny that a real crisis exists and not allocating serious funds to combat this terrible plague.

They are combatting the plague. There are various companies working on a vaccine.

Well, what percentage is considered to be acceptable to you? And does it matter that bishops and even the Vatican have covered for guilty priests? There is a lot more for the church to be ashamed of than can be avoided by pointing fingers elsewhere.

The percentage has to do with facts, not emotional accusations.

But let me help, according to Dr Philip Jenkins, a professor at Pennsylvania U, not a Catholic who did the studies over the past 25 years;

Out of the population of priest, 4% have been charged with sexual abuse. Most of those are with homosexual priest with teenage boys or homosexual adults

Priest molesting children, prepubescent children, is less than 1%.

For the most part, the Bishops and Vatican handled sex abuse accusations the same way that other institutions handled them. The accused had to agree to prosecute the priest and testify in court. The majority refused to do so and the parents of minors refused to go that route as well. Sexual abuse 20 - 40 years ago carried a negative stigma that the victim would suffer from if it were made public, so they kept silent.

This was true for secular schools and other religions as well

The Episcopal Church in Toronto Canada, filed for bankruptcy over 15 years ago because of the payouts for sex abuse cases committed by priest. Remember, their priests are allowed to be married.

Also, 20/20 ran a sting operation to catch pedophiles. Two who were caught were Rabi's.

The Catholic Church was highlighted by the media, who hates the Catholic Church and Christianity itself.
