I was just wondering how many of the visitors to this forum identify themselves politically. I've got a fairly good idea about the regulars, but I'm also curious about the numbers represented here. I know the choices are limited, but when we get down to the basics you pretty much fall into one or the other category.

So.... what's your persuasion, and if you wish, why do you consider yourself one or the other? :)

i guess most people would label me 'liberal' , altho truth be told, i see myself as more of a "believe in the constitutional principles this country was founded on" ... in simpler terms, equality for all, regardless of race, religion, sex, sexuality, or creed. i believe in looking out for the less fortunate members of society. i believe in equal rights for EVERYONE. i believe religion has NO place in government. i believe in the right to criticise the government without being label "anti-patriotic" or "pro-terrorist" or any other baloney. so i guess i'll vote liberal, altho i don't see how that label should apply. why should the above mentioned stances be labeled 'liberal?'

I voted conservative. I am glad you didn't attach these labels to parties, though, because I believe the Republican party of our generation has veered sharply left.

I may have said this before.........

I believe in a small government, with most of the burden of the welfare and interest of the citizens being taken care of at the state level.

I believe in a competitive free market.

I believe socialism goes against biblical principal because you are in effect stealing from part of your citizenry (I also believe this about taxes in general, but what can you do?)

I believe that the family is the most important part of your childs life, not pop icons, video games, MTV, or JLo.

I believe that the family and church are responsible for teaching children morals, not schools.

I believe the church should be stepping up more and helping, not dictating, social issues.

I believe in a strong military that shouldn't be used as a police force, either on our borders, or in Kosovo or Haiti.

I believe you can still love and pray for a homosexual while still detesting the lifestyle of homosexuality.

I believe abortions are murders of the soul, but that it is between the woman and God in the end.

I believe in love and prayer, and together I believe they are invincible.

Hope I didn't go on too much........:)
