That's a sensible approach.

However, I don't think there is much in the way of importation of at least tegus, not sure on iguanas, anymore. All the shows I go to they are captive bred. There is one or two vendors that sell wild caught, but they are Florida wild caught. Unlike iguanas, tegus tame down relatively well when caught in the wild.

If they are not being imported then they may have to make further rules. Such as, only licensed breeders can breed them and that they are limited as to how many they can be sell in a year.

I'm curious. No one responded to my cat post. They do far more damage than tegus and iguanas ever will, yet there is no talk of banning cats.

Why is that?

Again, I'm not for banning cats. I have cats myself. Yet, I see it as hypocrisy that people are for banning tegus and iguanas, but cats there is not a mention of it.
