my apologies, i used to read things better. I am sorry. Please read again, I don't promote a sinners prayer, I think I posted in contrary. OK, now I don't know. DrSteve.

It sounded to me like you were posting in contrary when I was discussing why we should take time to sit and talk with people when they indicate they want to be saved, in lieu of having them recite the sinners prayer...

I used the term "prospective believer" intentionally because I don't believe everyone who does those 5 minute counselling sessions after a service is actually saved... but didn't know a better word usage.

I am of the mind God prefers quality not quantity, and the salvation assembly line in modern churches does God and man a disservice.

None of "us" are fruit inspectors.

So you DO NOT submit to the Biblical COMMAND to:
(1) identify unsaved "tares" by the "fruit" of their false doctrines
(2) rebuke them (some may be "babes in Christ" needing correction)
(3) expel them from the church if they refuse to repent

Instead of doing what the Bible COMMANDS the saved "wheat"
to do (to keep the churches free of unsaved "tares", also called
"false teachers" and "false profits" and "children of Satan"
and "wolves in sheep's clothing"... you suggest that we actually
reject Biblical commands saying "we are not fruit inspectors"

You can do what you want.
But the Bible COMMANDS us to identify false Christians
by their "fruit"... whether you want to submit to that
Biblical command or not.
