  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I’ve been enjoying making playlists on Amazon Music, so I wondered, what are some songs that always seem to pop up in your playlists?

Do your favorite songs share any common traits? Is there a certain mood or energy that you look for?

For instance, I like songs with feeling (like, emotion-driven, not just jamming... no offense to Bob Marley).
And some songs just feel so natural, almost like they created themselves with their own energy. I love that.

Blurry - Puddle of Mudd
The Chain - Fleetwood Mac
House of the Rising Sun - The Animals
Hurricane - Thirty Seconds To Mars
If You Could Only See - Tonic
Hey Brother - Avicii
Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) - Journey
Numb/Encore - Jay Z/Linkin Park
Year of the Cat - Al Stewart

There are many more, but that’s a good sampling, I think
Don’t be afraid to tell us what you like, we won’t judge you! Probably.

Any Twenty One Pilots song is usually on repeat when I have my playlist going... Taylor Swift's Reputation cd (yes all the songs)

I like songs that have meanings behind them, something that has a good beat, or melody.

Thats why I like TOP's songs because they all have feeling, they all have a hopeful undertone and I just enjoy zoning out to their music, lol.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Rush, Boards Of Canada and Autechre. Not sure what the dots that connect them are... I guess they all tend to use interesting modes and textures or something.

Never listened to TOP. Maybe I’ll try them.
And what has happened to Taylor Swift? Seriously. I wouldn’t be surprised if she no longer plays guitar nor leaves teardrops on it.

You should! They are Christians, and even though they play on mainstream radio stations, the subject matters of their music and their messages in the songs are definitely led by God. They talk a lot about anxiety, depression, stress, and about hope. They say their songs have a hopeful undertone. :)

Anddd she does still play guitar, she can play a mean (no pun intended!) acoustic of her songs on guitar. She probably doesn't leave teardrops on it anymore, she seems pretty happy. :p :satisfied:
