My most valuable firearm; a completely custom built rifle by Mel Smart based on a pre-`64 Winchester Model 70 action and chambered in .35 Whelen. It was originally built as a moose rifle for Alaskan hunts. It was a gift from my father and is insured at a replacement value of $17,500 based on current prices of similar rifles.

The stock was one of Mel's early prototype Accra-Bond laminate stocks that sought to combine the attributes of laminate designs with the beauty of a custom hardwood stock.

It is truly a thing of beauty!

Practical days for me. Consistent weekly training is more important than fancy stuff.

I just bought my first Taurus G2 ..... Steel guide rod, metal sights, painted 4 night :) It's all I carry now. I'm 2x as accurate with it then with my Glock 43 extended

I am not a guy either, but have a couple. First was the Ruger LCP which fits into small places easily. Then I got a Smith & Wesson 9mm which I didn't like so traded it in for a Springfield Armory XDS .45. I accidentally let my C&C license expire and am in the process of getting it back.

THESE scare me more than guns for some reason....
Because anybody with the muscle to [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] one has the arms to fight real hard if he misses?

I guess it's a guy thing, but we like to show off our guns. This is the thread for it.
Here is my hunting rig. I am about to put an ATN Day/Night electronic scope on it for hog hunting at night. Notice how it rests on the monopod. Talk about making hunting pleasant. I can stand there all day with it at the ready.

The name "Masterpiece" was well chosen; a true classic!

My first pistol with a reflex sight, my Glock G29 10mm woods carry gun. Thinking of going to a reflex sight for GSSF indoor matches and decided to try out a cheap set up. Sight was only $40 and the mount was $20. If I like it and do well in the next match with it, then I'll spend the $200 or so for a quality sight...

I've seen mounts on the lowers with a gantry of sorts which lets the slide action happen without the sight moving. How fast is it to reacquire target after a shot with that setup?

RIA 1911.....Colt Series 70 barrel/bushing.....Clark Custom weaver rail for red dot...Pachmayr grips.
Does the sight travel with the slide? That would seem to shorten life of the springs and change the recoil.

While this is not a picture of our gun, its a picture online of the same exact one we just bought last week.

Its a S&W Bodyguard 380. Has a built-in laser (which we don't really need). Comes with two clips, a case and a holster. All for $250. Never used. Got 200 FMJ for practice and 30+ hollow points. Its for home protection. Its very small but we got it that way so my wife and mother (live together) can use it if they had too.

Personally I would have preferred a Remmington 1911. Or maybe a standard Glock. Heck if money were no issue I'd love a AA-12. Granted its overkill (literally) and I don't think you can buy one. I just love the absurdness of it being a automatic shotgun with a 32 round drum. lol

Was my fathers and s/n places manufacturer between '45 and '47. It is in such nice condition I prefer to use a 5" version I bought (made '72).

I also just bought a new Smith & Wesson Mod 17-9 .22 LR 6 Masterpiece but have yet to use it. Bought the new one to cheapen the ammo cost at the range. I obviously prefer revolvers. :)

I took several guns out to the range this past week. After shooting them I shot my G2 and it is amazing how accurate that short barrel is. It shot better than my Ruger SR 9 which I had done very will in several competitions. Taurus has a winner in the G2, for sure.
