Here is a thread, that I started (off site) on Thursday

I'm just back in from the Vet's
Teddy is fine! \o/ still 'whingeing' quite a bit
but I am attributing that, to his feeling groggy
and, he is not altogether firm-footed at the moment
better that, than be in pain
(Y)
He has had a number of teeth removed, which surprises me
because the vet said they were not equipped to deal with multiple extractions....
But he has gone and cleaned Teddy's mouth of potential trouble, in the short term
~at nine years+ Teddy, is an older dog and at-risk from the anaesthetic rather than gum infection...
I have a five day supply of antibiotics to feed to him and must return in one week for a check up
The bill has taken me on the wrong foot as well £79.97 altogether...plus £10.oo for the initial consultation (£90 in one week, and i only get £146 coming-in)
I only managed to pay £30 on Thursday and promised to pay £49.97 on Saturday _by card (over the phone) Having already paid £10.oo on Tuesday
A private vet would have charged me three-times that amount
We attended a pet hospital, (RSPCA) that is ONLY for use by people on low income...
Treatment for any animal is entirely dependant upon production of proof of income,
and, they MUST BE 'microchipped' or you will be turned away

Stormi Chavez We don't have any low cost facilities here.
Back last August Cricket went in for same, had 13 teeth removed and gums scraped.
The cost was $ 350.00! On the different Chihuahua groups I'm in I've seen posts
where people were being charged as much as $ 2000.00 for having the same thing done as Cricket.
Wow

David J. Batchelor back last August (?)
that $2K would have been the equivalent of £1,200.oo
Sheesh
That is, one heck of a lot of 'poppy'
I could not raise that amount, even over a two year period
I would have-to consider euthanasia ~to prevent him suffering

David J. Batchelor You gotta employ 'heart'
aka: Feel, FOR-THEM, not you
(Y)
What is RIGHT ?
empathy, enables you ~to be merciful
God bless

David J. Batchelor I'm sure the duty vet, told me 'seven' had been removed
and, she listed a number of them saying "Canines, are intact"
But she MIGHT have said "several"
I will count the 'voids' just as soon as I feel
I am not reminding-him (by doing-so)
Dogs tend to live in the past
(except, when expecting a visit / treat (and a meal, when-hungry)
Short term memories, are easily 'overwritten'
and moreso, when the trauma has not been too-severe

Najat Kaedbey Here too we do not have low cost facilities...~but u can find a lot of different charges for the same service...Depending on the location...
But I think our prices are not lower...
Sad

David J. Batchelor Awwwww
I too wish that 'providers' of such services, were NOT
(primarily) concerned-with wealth-generation
and also, unconcerned, regarding their own 'conservation of wealth'

Najat Kaedbey Here they consider having a pet is an accessory not a necessity...
and take advantage of us...
Sad

David J. Batchelor While, some of us grow at home
Monetarists, concentrate on the rate of growthof money they control
A 'little-more' IS (for-them) 'never-enough'
