Inspired said:We have had Parades in tons of cities for over 30 years now, so is there anything about this one in particular that bothers you?
That's a good question, Inspired. Sports in general have been a hotbed of sinful behavior for decades, what with adultery, alcoholism, assaults, drugs, bribery, fornication, even murder. So why should I be surprised that a sports team would set a day aside to honor more sinful behavior?
What would really stun me would be if a team had a 'Glory to God' day or a 'Praise the Resurrected Jesus' day. Talk about a public outcry, they'd never be able to get the game started. Their worldly fans would respond with outrage at the thought that their poor children might be actually exposed to the cleansing Word of God. Better the validation of a vulgar, sinful lifestyle than risk being introduced to the Jesus who bled and died to save us.
Of course I'm being facetious, but you and I know I'm not too far off point.
