A different debate for a different thread, especially considering that you and I are probably in concurrence on the ultimate issue of abortion. (Keep in mind that, properly used, "to concur" is to come to the same conclusion, but often with different reasoning).

While the cat's away, the mice, er atheists and humanist and those who agree with them, will play.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil! Persecution comes in all different shapes and sizes. Children being sent home from school for wearing a Christian T-shirt, children not being able to say the name "Jesus" in school, forcing people who live on public assistance to receive an RFID chip which is included in Obamacare (Please see the thread on I think called "Almost here" on Christian Current Events) which will begin in October, which includes all seniors, those on Medicare and Medicaid and those receiving Public Aid, UNINVITING Franklin Graham to make a speech at a military school simply because he tells the truth about Islam, MAKING a huge deal and trying to put the owner of Chik-Fil-A out of business because he stated his own opinion about homosexuality, not to mention the hundreds or more who would lose their jobs in the process, are just a few of the examples of Christian persecution in this country. It is evil and vile and perpetrated by the liberal elites and the media. And Christians who cannot see that they are promoting evil and vileness in this country, IMO, which I have every right to express, need to ask God what is right, not the world. Just because the liberals in this country disagree with me does not mean that I am wrong. Christians eating Christians once again and agreeing with atheists and humanists. It is disgusting. I do not care if this gets me banned from this site. So go send your complaints. Who are you to decide what is persecution and what is not? Have you asked the martyrs if their persecution was insidious or started out with a bang? Do you know the answer to that? NO. So don't tell me that I have no right to complain.

It's called free speech. The owner of Chik Fil A had free speech to air his views, and others also had free speech to air their own views. People are allowed to choose where to eat. That's NOT persecution. I don't eat at McDonalds because of the damage that the organization does to the world (plus their food sucks) - am I persecuting McDonalds? Will they go out of business because I don't eat there? LOL. That's NOT persecution.

Cannibalism is definitely not in my repertoire.

It's not a debate, it's fact. A separate human lives at the moment of conception.

Then perhaps you should be more respectful of your fellow Christians.

Not in mine either. Apparently, the gist is that "real Christians" will never find themselves in agreement with anyone who happens to be an atheist, humanist, secularist, etc., and will never find themselves in disagreement with anyone who is also a "real Christian".

I'm sorry, but when I see my Christian brothers and sisters expressing something that I believe to be in error, I will call them out on it, as I am biblically called to do. I didn't realize that this makes me a cannibal. ^_^

Can you point me to the post where Hetta was disrespectful to any other Christians?

Ha Ha. You didn't make it a huge news issue. You didn't try to stop McDonalds from building a franchise in your city. You didn't try to make the person with a differing opinion look like a bigot, since he really is only agreeing with Scripture. You didn't go out and picket or try to slander another person.

Nonetheless, it is off topic to this thread.

Are you going to be respectful of me and my views?

I can answer that for you - the answer is NO. It's no because you and your kind believe yourselves to be 100% "right" and any dissenting voice must therefore be 100% wrong. At least you have consistency in this, but I'm not going to pretend to agree with people I disagree with, and I'm not going to change my opinion on things upon which I am convicted.

What?!? Liking McDonald's is "only agreeing with Scripture."

#82 and #87, especially #87 I can't stand it here when someone states their opinion and for example there is someone who speaks often about conspiracy theories and gets a little too involved and posts A LOT and people either ignore him or make fun of him. I cannot stand it when people are made fun of. It's not laughing with someone, it's laughing AT someone. I don't see that as Christian behavior.

The guy IS a bigot. There is no "trying" required.

You don't know what I did or would do to oppose the McD's franchise within the law. :)

If someone slandered the guy from CFA, he should have resorted to law. As he didn't, I can only assume he was not in fact slandered, he was simply questioned and debated and criticized. That's all free speech, no crime.

So if it's within the law, it's okay with you?

You never laugh at comedians? You never laugh at a joke? LOL.

So, you would seek to silence any comment but agreement? Good luck with that.

I am not going to go on the defensive. If I broke a rule, you will have to make a report.

This is silly. I am not going to go around this any more, but the OP is right, and I agree with the commentary that he linked.

    Yes.

Edited: yes, when it comes to protest and commentary. It is not against the law to comment upon behavior that offends me. It is not against the Bible either for me to comment upon behavior that offends me.

There is nothing at all disrespectful about post #82. Post #87 was simply a response to an amusing comment made by another poster. I'll grant that it wasn't the kindest comment in the world, but I'd also grant that it is apropos in a discussion where someone is seriously comparing someone disagreeing with their opinion to another person being tortured, starved, and executed for their faith. If you find it disrespectful to acknowledge the silliness of that, then I suppose I respectfully disagree.

I get my instructions from Scripture. It tells me that I should love others as I love myself, that I should live for Christ and not for the world, I live in the world but I'm not of the world, that I should separate myself from the world, it gives me ten commandments to follow, to be obedient to God and His Word, and on and on. Since I defended Christians, criticized the way they are treated in this country, defended Franklin Graham and the owner of Chik-Fil-A, both Christians and some here just seem to be falling over with laughter and I don't see the joke. Jesus said we would be mocked. I am not saying I'm 100% right. I'm saying that the Word of God is 100% right. You are separating the owner of Chik-Fil-A from his Christianity. And to call a person who doesn't believe in homosexuality or gay marriage a bigot is wrong. You wouldn't call God a bigot and He calls homosexuality an abomination. Why doesn't the Chik-Fil-A guy have a right to not be in favor of it? And why, just because I am passionate in my opinions and in my acts that they be in accordance with Scripture are you saying that I am not respectful. Why are myself and "my kind" accused of being know-it-alls and inflexible simply because we follow Scripture in these modern days when there is much effort to deceive from every direction, in the gov't, the media, friends or family and even in the church?
