(CLV) Mt 5:48
You, then, shall be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

This is what Yahshua calls us to.

Oh come now, this is just an allegory; right?

(CLV) 1Jn 3:9
Everyone who is begotten of God is not doing sin, for His seed is remaining in him, and he can not be sinning, for he is begotten of God.

OK, well maybe this means after we die and go the heaven.

(CLV) Mt 13:41
The Son of Mankind shall be dispatching His messengers, and they shall be culling out of His kingdom all the snares and those doing lawlessness,

OK, well I still have time to get my act straight. There's grace wonderful grace! I can rely on grace to cover my lawlessness.

(CLV) Hb 10:28
Anyone repudiating Moses' law is dying without pity on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
(CLV) Hb 10:29
Of how much worse punishment, are you supposing, will he be counted worthy who tramples on the Son of God, and deems the blood of the covenant by which he is hallowed contaminating, and outrages the spirit of grace?

It will take the power of YHWH dwelling within me to make this happen. I need to lay down my life, not my will, his be done.

I would vote for "Both", if it was an option given to us.

My friend, you don't want to do that.

"You will not surely die," is what the serpent said when he was trying to convince Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.

Jesus said..."And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" (John 11:26)
The wages of sin was death, but the repentant, (who are baptized into Christ's death), are raised from death, with Christ, to walk in newness of life.
I shall never die...no matter what happens to this "vessel".
And, I pray for the strength to manifest Christ, in me, at all occasions.

That is for those who believe. What about those who don't believe? The poll is a dichotomy.

That's why I used the words of the serpent. It's for those who think they can go through life without listening to what YHWH is trying to tell us, though his son, and through his son's disciples.

24Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

It is indeed the flesh that is more than symbolically put to death upon our departing this life. Finally!
As Paul asked, " Who will deliver me from this body of death?" (Rom 7)
Of course one can argue this is really just all a spiritual or ethereal application of the battle against our nature. Our physical death proves otherwise.
The mortal must put on immortality. Thanks be to God our father and our savior Jesus Christ!

Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Thankfully!

The word "flesh" can either mean our "skin", or it can mean the past "mind" of those now in Christ and now walking in the Spirit.
BTW, Paul's rhetorical "Who shall save me from this body of death?" was already answered in Rom 6:6..."Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."
Plus, I was given a new nature after my death and burial with Christ.

I wouldn't want to carry my sins into God's Kingdom! :) We will be resurrected a new being, made in the image of God's choosing. Amen!
I'm a little confused by your post.
Why would a Christian have sins to carry anywhere, after a repentance FROM sin and the cleansing of past sins by the blood of Christ?
Haven't you been made a new creature, reborn of God's seed?

Paul spoke about being resurrected in a spiritual body at the resurrection, after having died in a mortal body. The parable of the seed Jesus spoke, perhaps. What is planted comes up more glorious than the original item, that being a mere seed.

I guess that is a "NO" to my question about your having been made a new creature.
The new creature is reborn of God' seed, and not Adam;s seed.
It's nature is pure, Godly, without sin "to carry forward".
The vessel we reside in isn't the cause of sin, the mind is.
Those in Christ have the mind of Christ.

Again, 1 Cor. Chapter 15, Peace to you and your family. You appear to be concerned with the moment of conversion in ones life, but I am referring to the moment of the resurrection in ones life. Two different events in ones time stream.

Yes, I was dealing with the new creature we are after we are raised with Christ to walk in newness of life here on earth until we are "called home".
But your post #6 implied you were walking in sin until your death.
I hope I am wrong.
What you seem to consider "your" flesh, I consider "His" flesh.
Paul writes..."
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Gal 2:20)
What used to be "my" flesh and bones is now "His temple".
I have been delivered from what was my body of death already.

In a sense I was dealing with sin in the flesh. "Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God".
We are His temple and His life in the temple is what will grant us eternal life. We are less than dross without Him.
It is written..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:25)
Those in the "flesh" are not "of Christ".
"Flesh" doesn't mean "skin".

Perfected in the Love of the Father.

John 17:23. I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in One, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

1 John 4:17, 18. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears is not perfected in love.
We love Him because He first loved us.
