I am grateful for the few men who have stepped up for my children. Today, it was the teacher who shows up to every school related award ceremony that she is in...even though he doesn't have to. I think he was more emotional than I was when she won a huge scholarship for a video she made in his class in a national contest. She also has a coach who serves as her "dad" in softball when he can ... and other than me, he is her biggest fan. And there is "the cool uncle" who cheers her on in figure skating and will talk anime with her. I don't think people realize just how much teenage girls need a (healthy) man's presence in their lives.
