President Bush used the words "peace and security" in his speech today. Keep watching for these words--they are very significant!

    1 Thessalonians 5:3
When people say, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape. (RSV)

    1 Thessalonians 5:3
When men are saying "Peace and security" catastrophe will sweep down upon them as suddenly and inescapably as birth-pangs to a pregnant woman. (Phillips)

Thes 5:3, is talking about plural beings saying "peace and security". As in more than two. Bush in only one man.

    Why is everyone anti-bush lately?

Just where do you people come from? You read or hear someone say something and then you pull a scripture out of context and apply it to that person. I've heard this for over thirty years! That's one of the problems of premillennialism.

Let's watch our president and see if he drinks water, for there is a scripture that says "drink no longer water..."(1 Tim 5:23) Now, if he drinks water, he must be
bad, the anti-christ, the xxxx (you fill in the blanks).

Of course I've taken "drink no longer water" out of context from 1 Tim 5:23, but then that's what you are doing.

President Bush (both Father and son) stand tall in my book.

Me, too. I like to hear that we have a leader that prays for God's wisdom and guidance before making decisions. Of course, just like us non-presidential Christians, he will make mistakes at times, but I think his heart is in the right place.

    Amen - Terri,
It's nice to know that some will be ready, and not get caught in the trap that Satan has laid out. You are 100% correct and Israel is our measuring stick. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Keep your mind on Jesus, and your eyes on Israel. See ya

Thanks RollinTHUNDER for the kind words! They really meant a lot to me.

It's sad so many people are blind to the signs of the times and even go out of their way to be unkind when we share the knowledge that God has shared with us.

I'm sure you know what I mean when I say I feel compelled by God to put the information "out there" that God shares with me. What people do with the information is up to them.

    Love you in the Lord,

    Terri

First of all, President bush is a Christian. There's reports of him having get togethers in the white house with some gospel music going, and him waving his hands in the air worshipping the lord all the more. He is a great president, and no doubt whenever making an decision, he prays long and hard before it. So it's my opinion that Bush is asking for God's guidence all the time about his future actions and decisions. He needs our prayers, not critisism.

I'm current studiny revelations quite thoroughly, and in the end times, I don't see America being that much of an impact. When the anti-christ comes, the Super Power will be turned into Babylon, which I believe is suppssed to be somewhere in the Middle East. Also, I believe when the rapture occurs, America is going to be hit HARD! (Thanks rollinTHUNDER :)) Not only are we going to lose a large portion of the population, but our president and possibly some people in cabinet as well. So basically, America is eventually going to be up a creek without a paddle.

You are aware that it is God's plan that this happening? Or rather God is allowing it to happen, thus there will be no end to it until his plan is set into action or he allows it to stop. I believe that scripture states somewhere that the anti-christ is going to make a treaty between himself and Israel, possibly stoping the violence? After 3.5 years of which he's going to break the false treaty. And he will then declare himself god inside the newly rebuilt Holy Temple. This is what starts the Great Tribulation.

Have you ever heard the saying "Peace in the Middle East, look up." ? I think also one of the reasons the masses will be so fond of the Anti-christ is because of him making peace in the Middle-East. People are right now saying it's impossible...

My point, support our president! He's a Christian as well as human, he's going to make mistakes just like anyone else. So he needs our prays to guide him, not our judgement. I fail to see anyone of you being president, especially in light of the recent evernts in America and the World.

My opinion, he's handleing it with flying colors.

I have made no judgement about President Bush. He used the term mentioned in the bible. That was true when I posted it and it is still true.

You seem to be judging me about something although I can't quite tell what it is.

    No apology necessary!

I do try very hard to watch events without judging the people involved. I do believe that God is in control of all, and as far as I know President Bush could be in God's perfect will.

I do hope we all will continue to pray for President Bush and all of our leaders.

If you get a chance in your prophesy studies, check out the United Nations website. The stated purpose of the United Nations is to achieve "peace and security". Their charter uses the term over 30 times.

I have been listening to world leaders use the term "peace and security" since 1992. I believe it is possibly a buzz word for the United Nations led New World Order. I feel it is a sign of the times that we should be aware of! But, I also believe that being aware doesn't mean you have to judge the people involved.

    Keep your head up Terri,
I know what you mean exactly. Sometimes I get so frustrated by others blindness. Just last night I caught myself arguing a point with someone who will probably never get the big picture. I guess the thing that frustrates me the most is : not only do these individuals mis-interpret the scriptures, but they also twist what you say too. So, last night I thought to myself, "Self, what are you doing, is this what the Lord would have you do???? Somebody kick me. We all can fall into those traps. Praise the Lord the light finally came on. And I gathered up all the peace that the Lord wanted me to have and went to bed. Someone else can argue with them now. I'm too busy to waste the little time I have left. See ya

It's really amazing to me that so many people are caught in the traps that Satan lays out. Is Israel our measuring stick? Where does it say that in the Bible? Please quote the verse or verses that says "Israel is our measuring stick."
No, this is a premillennial problem. Premillennialist jump and shout everytime something happens in the world, not just Israel. You can read or hear of an earthquake in
California and some premillennialist will scream "it's the end of the world." :D

I am going to define a premillennialist and then list some of the predictions of the past. You can build your own list as time goes, just watch and listen for they (premillennialist) are the majority.

The word “millennium” comes from two Latin words, which means “a thousand years.” Revelation 20:3-5 mentions a thousand years in which the Devil is completely bound and the saints reign with Christ. How are these thousand years related to the 2nd coming of Christ? The “premillennialist” thinks the 2nd coming is to take place before(pre) the thousand years, while the “postmillennialist” thinks the 2nd coming occurs after(post) the thousand years. The “amillennialist” holds the 2nd coming has nothing to do with the thousand years.

The premillennialist are made up of many groups and names. Today, the brand of premillennialism that is popular is “dispensational” premillennialism. It is popularized by Hal Lindsey’s “LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH” and “THERE IS A NEW WORLD COMING.” John Walvoords “MILLENNIAL KINGDOM” is a definite work presenting dispensational viewpoints. Under the “umbrella” of premillennialism are groups like the Jehovah Witnesses, Pentecostals, most Baptists, 99% of Sabbath-keepers like the Seventh-Day Adventists, Davidians (like David Karesh), their names are legion.

    Here are some quotes: --

Quote from premillennialist organization from year 1886 “the outward evidences are that the marshalling of the hosts for the battle of the great day of God Almighty is in progress while the skirmishing is commencing.” Watchtower Reprints, I, Jan. 1866, page 817

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1904, “according to our expectations the stress of the great time of trouble will be upon us soon, somewhere between 1910 and 1912 ---culminating…October, 1914.” C.T. Russell, THE NEW CREATION, page 579

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1914, “there is absolutely no ground for Bible students to question that the sonsummation of this Gospel age is now even at the door, and that it will end as the scriptures foretold, in a great time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation.” Watchtower Reprint, VI, May 1, 1914, page 5450

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1915, “the Battle of Armageddon, to which this war is leading, will be a great contest between right and wrong, and will signify the complete and everlasting overthrow of the wrong and the permanent establishment of Messiah’s righteous kingdom for the blessing of the world. . .” Watchtower Reprints, VI, April 1, 1915, page 5659

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1918, “Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particulary those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection.” MILLIONS LIVING WILL NEVER DIE, page 89

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1918 “the present war I Europe is the beginning of the Armageddon of the Scriptures.” C.T. Russell. PASTOR RUSSELL’S SERMONS, page 676

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1920, “…the old order of things, the old world, is ending and is therefore passing away. . . 1925 shall mark the resurrection of the faithfull worthies…” GOLDEN AGE OF THE KINGDOM, 1920.

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1922, “the date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the scriptures than 1914.” WATCHTOWER, 9/1/22, page 262

Quote from premillennialist organization, YEAR 1925, “it is expected that Satan will try to inject into the minds of the consecrated the thought that 1925 should see an end to the work.”
    WATCHTOWER, 9/1/25

Quote from premillennialist organization, year 1931, “His day of vengeance is here, and Armageddon is at hand and certain fall upon Christendom, and that within an early date. Jehovah’s judgement is upon Christand must be shortly executed.” J. F. Rutherford, VINDICATION, I., page 147

Quote from premillennialist organization, YEAR 1939, “. . .at the timefor the battle of the great day of God Almighty is ver near. . .” “. . .the diaster of Armagedoon is just ahead.” J.F. Rutherford,
    SALVATION, pages 310, 361

Quote from premillennial news article, “Not in the lifetime of most men has there been so much grave and deep aprehension; never has the future seemed so incalcuable as the present time. The domestic economic situation is in chaos. Our dollar is weak throughout the world. The political cauldron seethes and bubbles with uncertainty. Russia hangs, as usual, like a cloud, dark and silent, upon the horizon. It is a solemn moment. Of our troubles, no man can see the end. Year 1990 NO!, 1980 NO!………Harper’s Weekly, October, 1857!!!

Hal Lindsey, Late Great Planet Earth, 1971 copy, Lakeland publication, London, pages 53,54
Lindsey was very sure that in 1981 the tribulation would begin – nuclear wars, famines, droughts, pollution on a worldwide scale, genocide, incredible heatwaves, worldwide epidemics of horrible ulcers, earthquakes of greater than continental dimensions; these and other horrors are just up ahead for the earth.

Premillenialists teach that the Levitical priesthood is going to be restored in the millennium. Take a look at Charles L. Feinberg – he assures us that the Levitical priesthood is coming back, invested in the Zadokites. He gets this from Ezek 44:15-27.
John walvoord in his “The Millenniald Kingdom”, pages 310-315, is very plain in telling us that the Aaronic priesthood is coming back.

Arno C. Gaebelein, a premillennialist, wrote “THE PROPHET EZEKIEL, pages 270-273, 317ff, plainly tells us: “The earthly priesthood as it once was is re-established and vested in the sons of Zdok. . . all this will be fulfilled and done when this new and true worship is institued in the coming age. . . when the Lord has restored Israel to this great place of worship stands, priestly ministrations will be resumed.”

Charles Ryrie, pages 127-130, defends the dispensational premillennial view that sacrifices for sin are coming back.
The Scofield Bible, page 890, maintains these bloody sacrifices are coming back.
Arno Gaebelein, pages 307-313 insists we accept the sacrifices literally or do “violence to the Word of God.”

Premillennialists believe that circumcision will be restored as essential to communion with God. They get this from Ezek 44:6,7 & 9. Hal Lindsey’s LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH, page 177, speaks of these fulfillments and that even people will be excluded from communion with God at His sanctuary.(He uses Zech 14:21)

John Walvoord, THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM, pages 208-220, assures us that the “new covenant” is only for Israel and relates to the Millennium and not to this age. By the way, Lindsey's was a student of John Walvoord at Dallas Theological Siminary.

charlesj -re traps of Satan, good post and yep typical of news-paper theology. It's interesting to see the more than a touch of arrogance futurism portrays in glibly assuming Bible prophecy that was written to NT people for NT times for a first century mid-eastern context some how slips past all them and applies only TODAY in our western 21st century world. What a sad and sorry joke.

    Don't cry davo,
You just gotta believe. Have just a little bit of faith. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not so. Blessed are those who believe, and yet have not seen. This is not sad. What's sad is : believing that Satan is bound and we are living in a perfect new earth.

Thanks charlesj and davo for your posts.

You are just another sign of the times!!!!

2PE 3:3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, "Where is this `coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."

    scoff--scoff--scoff

I personally don't know if there will be a pre-trib rapture, a mid-trip rapture, or a post-trib rapture. Although I do hope for pre-trib!! The Lord's timing will be fine with me.

I am sure, however that the end times events didn't happen in 70AD if you are one of that gang!

Thanks Terri for that vote of confidence :p

Actually, fulfilled prophecy or "preterism" does NOT say "ha! where is is coming? -in actual fact that's what ALL futurists do by denying His Coming has happened, because you look with the 'eye of the flesh', have a logical think about it. I know when He came -nearly 2000 years ago in judgment on apostate Judaism. He brought in the New Covenant then.
