Continued from: Romans Chapter 5
Romans 6 (CLV)
1 What, then, shall we declare? That we may be persisting in sin that grace should be increasing? 2 May it not be coming to that!
Clearly Paul says here that we are not to sin!
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
Sin is transgressing the law.
Paul says not to transgress the law.
How do we not transgress the law?
We keep the law.
Paul says to keep the Torah!
We, who died to sin, how shall we still be living in it?
Thou shalt not!
Paul says, keep the Torah.
3 Or are you ignorant that whoever are baptized into Yahshua Ha'Mashiach, are baptized into His death?
We are dead to The Law of Sin and Death. That means we stop sinning.
4 We, then, were entombed together with Him through baptism into death, that, even as Mashiach was roused from among the dead through the glory of the Father, thus we also should be walking in newness of life."
(CLV) Pr 6:23
For instruction is a lamp, and law is a light, And the reproofs of admonition are the way to life,
(CLV) Jn 14:6
Yahshua is saying to him, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one is coming to the Father except through Me.
(CLV) 1Jn 3:9
Everyone who is begotten of Elohim is not doing sin, for His seed is remaining in him, and he can not be sinning, for he is begotten of Elohim.
5 For if we have become planted together in the likeness of His death, nevertheless we shall be of the resurrection also, 6 knowing this, that our old humanity was crucified together with Him, that the body of Sin may be nullified, for us by no means to be still slaving for Sin,
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
The Law of Sin and Death was nailed to the torture stake with Yahshua, not the Torah!
If we have died with Yahshua; we will live with Yahshua; and walk as he walks.
7 for one who dies has been justified from Sin. 8 Now if we died together with Mashiach, we believe that we shall be living together with Him also,
Again, if we have died with Yahshua; we will live with Yahshua; and walk as he walks.
9 having perceived that Mashiach, being roused from among the dead, is no longer dying. Death is lording it over Him no longer,
Those who have died with Yahshua; and live with Yahshua; and walk as he walks; do not have the Law of Sin and Death lording over them.
In other words they are not under The Law of Sin and Death. They are not slaves of Satan. They are slaves of YHWH. They follow YHWH's word. Yahshua is his word. Yahshua follows the Torah.
10 for in that He died, He died to Sin once for all time, yet in that He is living, He is living to God." 11 Thus you also, be reckoning yourselves to be dead, indeed, to Sin, yet living to Elohim in Yahshua Ha'Mashiach, our Master."
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
We are to follow Yahshua. Yahshua died to the Law of Sin and Death, in obedience to YHWH's Torah.
12 Let not Sin, then, be reigning in your mortal body, for you to be obeying its lusts."
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
Don't obey The Law of Sin and Death.
Obey the Torah!
13 Nor yet be presenting your members, as implements of injustice, to Sin, but present yourselves to Elohim as if alive from among the dead, and your members as implements of righteousness to Elohim."
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
What is righteousness?
Definition of righteous
1 : acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin
Definition of RIGHTEOUS
14 For Sin shall not be lording it over you, for you are not under law, but under grace."
What law am I not under?
The Law of Life?
(CLV) Ro 8:2
for the spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus frees you from the law of sin and death.
The law that is written on my heart?
(CLV) Ro 2:15
whoa are displaying the action of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying together and their reckonings between one another, accusing or defending them,
The Law of Faith?
(CLV) Ro 3:27
Where, then, is boasting? It is debarred! Through what law? Of works? Not! But through faith's law.
The law that I'm sustaining?
(CLV) Ro 3:31
Are we, then, nullifying law through faith? May it not be coming to that! Nay, we are sustaining law.
Or.... maybe it could it be The Law of sin and Death?
(CLV) Ro 8:2
for the spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus frees you from the law of sin and death.
15 What then? Should we be sinning, seeing that we are not under law, but under grace? May it not be coming to that!"
Some believe that when they get a 'get out of jail free card', that it's a license to go on a crime spree.
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
If Paul abolished the law, then there is no law. If there is no law; there is no sin. If there is no sin; what need is there of grace? Grace for what?
16 Are you not aware that to whom you are presenting yourselves as slaves for obedience, his slaves you are, whom you are obeying, whether of Sin for death, or of Obedience for righteousness?
Obedience to what?
What is righteousness?

Definition of RIGHTEOUS
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
Obedience to the law!
Paul makes it clear here that you have only two choices. You will either be a slave of obedience to the law, or you will be a slave to transgression of the law. Either way you are a slave. The question is: who's slave?
17 Now thanks be to Elohim that you were slaves of Sin, yet you obey from the heart the type of teaching to which you were given over."
Obey what?
(CLV) Jer 31:33
For this is the covenant which I shall contract with the house of Israel after those days, averring is YHWH: I will put My law within them, And I shall write it on their heart; I will become their Elohim, And they shall become My people.
18 Now, being freed from Sin, you are enslaved to Righteousness."
What is sin?
(CLV) 1Jn 3:4
Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
What is righteousness?
Definition of righteous
1 : acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin
Definition of RIGHTEOUS
19 As a man am I saying this, because of the infirmity of your flesh. For even as you present your members as slaves to Uncleanness and to Lawlessness for lawlessness, thus now present your members as slaves to Righteousness for holiness."
There's a new word. Sounds ritual.
20 For when you were slaves of Sin, you were free as to Righteousness."
What is sin?

Everyone who is doing sin is doing lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness.
What is righteousness?
Definition of righteous
1 : acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin
Definition of RIGHTEOUS
Free from sin, not free from YHWH's law. When you are free from sin; you are free to obey.
21 What fruit, then, had you then? - of which you are now ashamed, for, indeed, the consummation of those things is death."
Sin is the fruit of death. Good to know!
22 Yet, now, being freed from Sin, yet enslaved to Elohim, you have your fruit for holiness. Now the consummation is life eonian."
Obedience to YHWH's Torah is the fruit of holiness. Eating it is eternal life!
I guess that we should not eat the fruit of sin and death along with the fruit of holiness. That would be sort of like eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
23 For the ration of Sin is death, yet the gracious gift of Elohim is life eonian, in Yahshua Ha'Mashiach, our Master."
