I'm glad your not in the camp of Mary being co-mediator. I think there is a push to make her co-redeemer also.

It will never happen. IMHO.

In english it would be more like sub-mediator and sub-redeemer. I say in english because "co" comes from the Latin "cum" wich means with. Not with Jesus on an equal footing but under Jesus.

There was a big push back in the 1990's for this happen but it didn't.

There was a bit of a compromise were people can call her(if they choose to) by those titles with the understanding that She is not on equal par with Jesus but had a unique role in the salvation of man as the Theotokos.

That's the reasoning behind it anyways.

Peace

The Lord Jesus Christ entrusted the universal care of souls into the safekeeping of "His Helper" the Holy Spirit.

That any human being should lay claim to the office of Vicar of Christ seems totally absurd and blasphemous.

He does not claim it for himself. He is not self elected.

My point is that they were being led by the Holy Spirit yet they were humble enough to realize it was God who is to be Glorified and not them. They took no credit.

Your point changes. You have not answered my questions about Paul or the Bible.

Humility is another discussion, though humility might be seen as the Pope endagering his life to go to Constantinople for a purpose, yet being respectful of the the people who are "hosting" him.

The function of the Pope is not to change or make up new doctrine but to teach it and protect it. From a CC perspective Christ and the Apostles taught everything that we needed to know. Public revelation eneded with the death of the last apostle.

I prefer Jesus' teachings along with Peter and Paul's understanding of what Jesus meant about salvation.

St Peter was the 1st Pope.

Peace

Nonsense! There is no proof of this either in the New Testament or in the writings of the church fathers up to the 4th Century. It was an invention of a group of people who were power hungry and wanted to rule the Christian church from Rome.

That is what the Pope teaches so I'm not sure what about the pope you are disagreeing with.

Peace
What's the Popes interpretation of Salvation? Does it coincide with what Jesus said. Peter and Paul don't think so.

I have a problem with a tarnished history of Papal corruption

And so you should, as with any individual, including a certain married minister who hired a masseuse and bought amphetamines, yet chose not to snort.

So the Pope aside, where do you stand on Bishops in general?
