I agree. I have never seen such a thin-skinned politician as Palin.

She messes up an answer and immediately goes into victimization mode.

There will always be stupid people, that's unavoidable and not something to be scared of. What's scary though is the sheer concentrated amount of harnessed stupid that allows someone like Palin to become a national celebrity by offering the stupid simple explanations of a complicated reality, and simple solutions to complicated issues. Simplifications that, as tends to be the case, are simply nonsensical.

The thought that there's even a slight chance Palin will become president in 2012 has raised my understanding and sympathy for foreign anti-American sentiment to a whole new level.

The left must really fear Palin.

I don't fear her. It is just that I think a President or Vice President should be an intelligent person who knows how government works and have a lot of knowledge about what is going on in the US and around the world. They have to be willing to learn also, and Palin has shown that she is not willing to be taught (she always tries to just wing it when she is speaking, and that has often gotten her into trouble. She refuses to even learn from her mistakes). Palin hasn't shown me that she is any of these things. There are many, many women in the Republican Party who are all of this, and if McCain had been smart, he would have chosen one of them instead of Palin, who seems to be pretty clueless. I may not agree with some of these women, but I do at least give them credit for knowing what they need to know to do the job.

Which is no argument that we wouldn't be worse-off if she were. I don't agree with everything Obama's ever done, but I wouldn't hesitate to vote the same way again, given the choices. Nor will I in 2012, from what I see so far.

To be honest, I do fear a Palin presidency.

But then again, perhaps such a thing would trigger a reversal of the creeping Imperial Presidency and cause Congress to take back the reins of rule. That would probably not be a bad thing.
