You are so right .It is not so much that there are patently insane people who for whatever reason are deeply disturbed (there always have been and they should be treated ), but, that there are some who go along with the insanity ,epecially in the Church tells us we must be close to the end of the age and that God is using this to "seperate the wheat from the chaff " .
Since the Holy Spirit guides us to sanity and the Truth ,we can note those who are not of the Spirit , by their weakness to stand for the Truth .
Amen. And here's what everybody is being conditioned to say to all of to society and saying especially to Christians:

"I want to be a woman/man/child/animal. Now, bow to my issues."

Those who actively engage in fighting the culture battles are not to blame, but have the responsibility to fight the battles more effectively
And what does fighting culture battles against young children consist of? I remember hearing a story about Hassidic Jews in Israel who started a school that allowed their little girls to wear short sleeved dresses, so a more conservative group of Hassidic Jews came out and threw rotten tomatoes at said little girls. I just see no upside in being sarcastic and unkind to these children. Why don't you devote more outrage to men in their thirties who try to rape teenagers and then try to raise money off of the issue when their darkness are brought to the light of day?

I don´t think anyone is suggesting persecuting children, after all it is not their fault but that of the misguided and irresponsible adults who turn what might be a passing phase in some children into a devastating life choice. This kind of thing has disastrous results for a person´s whole life, as do as you rightly point out the actions of sexual predators

The sarcasm and unkindness filters down to your children though and they then use these same tactics on other kids if they go to public school. And your kids and the kids they are teasing are both too young to understand sarcasm anyway.

I think these "misguided and irresponsible adults" know their children better than you or I do, and the long process to adulthood as a trans person has plenty of lanes to pull over and do a u-turn if someone so desires. But Shiloh Pitt, since she was choosing her own clothes at a very young age, seems to have consistently chosen to dress as a boy, for example, so at least some kids seem to make a consistent identification.

As far as the pronouns go I just don't see what the big deal if the one or two trans people you get to know have preferred pronouns. Sally likes to be called "they." Billy like to be called "hey." How many transgendered people do you plan to meet? I think I could handle at least four or five at a time, and if I made a mistake I would sincerely apologize and keep the relationship instead of causing more stress for these unique kids. I have only distantly known three transgendered people and somewhat more closely known one other that I might actually have used pronouns to address in my life though so I don't find this a strain.

I , for one, disagree with throwing rotten tomatoes at little girls.
Fighting cultural battles effectively ought not be about thowing fruits at children.

I am also not for men in their thirties raping children. A Christian cultural war ought not to consist of enabling men to rape children.

A Christian cultural battle might consist of things as honoring God's design when it comes to who men were created to be, who women were created to be, and that sexuality and gender are best expressed in their role of building good marriages.

I am not sure how you came to the conclusion that I thought that standing up for Christ entailed pelting children with rotten fruit, but I hope that you have now become disabused of the notion.
Now excuse me while I update my ignore list.
Bye bye.

Well you apparently already ignored me but let me have my say before I ignore you too. Frankly I do not think I said anything that offensive and if you must ignore me maybe something is going on.

God made us male and female, but as with disease, earthquakes and hurricanes we no longer live in a perfect world. There are people whose hormones or sexual equipment are confused. Most people can still be identified biologically male or female and the self definition of gender could be regarded as a mental health issue or a failure of community authority in many cases. In this case a biological girl identifies as a boy and the teacher thinks he has the right to say shes wrong. I would side with the teacher but the girl will still be angry and hurt by that.

My question is what do we do about it.

Does pandering to the mentally ill or rebel make them worse?

Does forcing a person to label themselves with a strong gender label ,when they cannot identify with that ,hurt the person or heal them?

Does the confusion of having her , him and it walk among us hurt our community and the development of self awareness and identity of normal people?

Is this about our own acceptance of a distorted cultural stereotypical exaggeration of masculinity and feminity that has little to do with biblical understandings and more to do with the prejudices and inauthenticity of our culture?
We tell them at first as kindly as possible that God made a very specific design ,and that when it is not used in the best possble way ,it starts to go wrong
like a radio where the wires are broken and mixed up .
In order to fix the radio to hear the programme clearly we need the right signals, wires in the right order and to do that we need to accept that there is something wrong in the first place .
The process of fixing might need some intensive changes, even taking apart the radio ,and putting it back together again .
What we do not do is let the person go on indefinitely , as they are not only damaging themselves , but others around them .

The devil or Lucifer if you like, wanted to change God's design to his own ,and this is the cycle coming round again ,history repeating itself ,and we know what happens if we don't learn from history .

I wonder if any of you caught this:

More than 2,000 young people, aged between three and 18, were referred to a specialist NHS clinic in 2016-17, seeking help with their gender identity.

When the parents of a 3 year old think a specialist is needed when he/she asks questions, I wonder who they'll need help from when he/she starts dating when in their teens.

I agree about sarcasm and unkindness, these are not fruits of the spirit. Not so sure about the rest though. Bullying is, I think, a separate issue. When I was at school bullying was taken as the norm, some kids had a terrible time. Teachers rarely addressed it. Kids get bullied for all kinds of reasons, and it´s the bullying itself that needs to be tackled, I can´t see how encouraging children to question the fundamental reality of their own gender will help. In a society so far off the rails spiritually the CofE, like all churches, should have the courage and conviction to offer a different view, rooted in God, rather than just getting caught up in the mire as if there is no God and no objective truth, otherwise what is the point? The CofE´s leadership could more effectively renounce belief in God and do something else.

Is there an official definition for the term misgendering?
Apparently it's simply refusing to agree with whatever gender a person decides they are at any given moment. If Billy decides that between 9:00 and 9:10 am every Thursday he's a girl, then you'd better not forget it.

Just children now....
But what if they identify as 65 year old people? We can't be "agists" now, can we? ^_^

-Phil (wonders if he can identify as tax exempt)

... that God is using this to "seperate the wheat from the chaff " .
.
Never heard of that, very strange.

God does not need nor does He use sin to separate. There was a separation before He even created Adam and Eve. As the Perfect Standard, He himself is the point of separation between righteousness and unrighteousness.

This whole thing reminds me of how there are people who see themselves as disabled, so they break their legs so they can't walk. There was even a woman who thought she was blind and then blinded herself by pouring acid in her own eyes to "transform" herself into a blind person. Such things as self-mutilation will become the norm when even a person's gender can be transformed based on how a person feels.

I remember watching a documentary about people wanting to amputate perfectly healthy limbs for the same reason. Mental illness should be treated, not promoted.

It is like the parents of the 2000 people referring their children to the specialists are in effect throwing acid into the eyes of their own babies.
It is child abuse to mess around with your kids like that.

Absolutely agreed! When I was four years old I used to play with my sister's Barbie doll. Thank God my parents didn't assume I was really a girl and take me to some "therapist."
