Personality: Before: Very optimistic and happy-go-lucky. He's fun to be around and sees the sunny side in every situation. Carefree to the max, he never worries about anything and usually rushes into things before contemplating the consequences.
After: Still very optimistic. However, his carefree spirit is gone and he's a wary individual when threatened. He still finds the good in every situation and does his best to spread his cheer wherever he goes, even though no one is there to receive it.
Background: As a young child, he lived in a rural area with his two free-spirited parents. As two hippies, they basically let Owen go on his own doing just about whatever he felt like, which was mainly spending all his freetime exploring the woods. Despite the thorough spoiling, Owen managed to come through life believing one should only take what they need, but he was also antisocial. His mother dispassionately disapproved of Owen's being taught how to hunt game, but his father would sneak and give Owen shooting lessons anyhow, as his father had been a woodsman. At the age of 19, Owen decided he wanted to give serious education a try and went to college for two and a half years before quitting and taking a job as a forest ranger. He was becoming restless with his job, with humanity, when suddenly everyone disappeared. He wasn't displeased with those turn of events due to the course of his life until then.

What he's been doing for three years: He's been fulfilling his dream of hiking across the entire North American continent. Already a hunter and lover of the outdoors, he's done well keeping himself alive with no help from anyone.
