I am suspecting the title might have pulled you in. Good. It did its job. Glad you could peek in. But I must warn you now, if you truly listen to what I am about to share, it will cause one of two reactions for most every reader.

One group will scoff and think me crazy at best, and at worst a false prophet, while the other will be intrigued by what is shared, an almost too-good-to-be-true but so wanting it to be scenario that I have seen is our future. Heck, some might even be excited by what is coming at us.

But know this. What is about to happen will.... WILL.... exceed the outpouring we see in the book of Acts. I am not sure what leaping like a hart will look like for a 70 year old man, lol, but when the "glorious liberty of the children of God" becomes more than just scripture on a page and instead swallows us up as we exchange "knowing about God" for knowing Him, you are about to find out.

But what has to happen before that? We have to get sick and tired of our religiousness. And our religious US.

Sick and tired of this world and its pull on us.

Sick and tired of one-sided prayer closets.

Sick and tired of endless Sundays hearing the preaching of the cross, but never the resurrection.

Sick and tired of sin tempting us, luring us, causing us to fall, leaving our faith to reside in its infantile stage.

Sick and tired of religious leaves, but no fruit.

Sick and tired of having a head knowledge of God and of His Word but with a heart still alive to self and dead to Him.

Whew! That, guys is a high bar. Not many fit that mold. Thank God for those who already do. But listen. Inside every true child of God...the sheep.... the wheat..... the true CHURCH.... an awakening is about to take place. His seed in you, long dormant, is about to sprout to new life and grow in you. You will develop a hunger for JESUS Himself, a union of Him in us and us in Him.... with 24 hour communion. Closer than a brother? Oh, yes! Impossible, you say? Oh, ye of little faith.

It does not take a theological degree to realize that church is not changing us into His likeness. All it it takes is a look in the mirror. Who do you see? Do you see the "old you", the one run by self, the one still liking the freedom to sin a bit, the one still bound by bad habits, because, after all, "No one is perfect and we don't want to get legalistic about it. We have grace!".

Or, I pray, do you see Christ in you, the resurrected you, the "being perfected" you, as you believe that the old you really is dead?

If not today, then soon we shall see that what we have hewn out, our Christian religion.... is not living water but 500+ religious cisterns that can hold no water, yet with each one convinced they possess the "real" truth. But there is a problem. The real truth does not possess them. Yet. We possess the skeleton of doctrinal truth that was new life in the book of Acts. But we are left trying to convince ourselves that this skeleton is the best life God could cook up for us.

Boy, are we about to be surprised.

More to come, but that our to get our blood pumping.

    blessings,

    Gideon

    Gideon,

You and I come at this subject with a very similar understanding of the church culture of today in America and for the need for revival to take place within the church. I believe we both see what needs to take place in the hearts of those who profess faith in Jesus Christ in order for this transformation to take place. I believe we both see how the "cheap grace" gospel message is permeating the modern church of today so that many believe that God's grace gives them free license to continue in their sinful addictions.

You may not word it in that same way as I do, though, for we do come at this subject from somewhat of a different perspective, but not entirely. We are both committed to seeing people be free from their slavery to sin and to walk in holiness with their Lord. We are both committed to rejecting the norms of dead religion and platitudes, and we are both committed to seeing people worship God in spirit and in truth.

And, I believe we both believe that there is going to be a day when something takes place in America (USA) that is going to shake the dead church, the worldly church, and that is going to bring revival to the hearts of those who profess faith in our Lord Jesus.

Again, maybe we don't word it the same way, but that is the bottom line, I believe. We want to see people's hearts turned away from their lifestyles of sin to walking in the power of the Spirit of God according to the ways of God. So, I am with you there. Sue

It is called the latter rain. Moses talks about this: " I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy grain, and thy wine, and thine oil." (Deut 11:14)

I'm getting totally sick of churchianity.
Going to meetings to discuss buildings, maintenance, funding and how to get more people to come into the building, and join the church, so that numbers will increase and the place will continue for another 20 years or so - in practice that often means "as long as it's here for my funeral."

I'm tired of sitting in church, hearing sermons on trusting God and stepping out in faith, and then going to a church meeting and hearing people say "oh, what can we do .....? Supposing this happens .......? How are we ever going to get the resources for .....?"
Well here's an idea; trying putting the sermon into practice.
I'm tired of preparing services, and sermons, for churches and only hearing the comment "I knew all the hymns you chose", or "lovely hymns; we had a good sing this morning". What about being challenged/changed/comforted by the Bible readings, or getting a new glimpse of God, or being inspired by the sermon to do .... or to change in some way?
I'm baffled by the fact that the response to the Gospel today is very different to in the early church's day - the word of God is the same and the Gospel is still the power of God for everyone who believes. I'm tired of Christians who read Scripture and think "those verses/promises are for the "elect", they don't apply to others." Or "that is justification for my church's position on ...... Only people who believe that will be saved." Or who, maybe even subconsciously, take a verse that has struck them, look for other verses to back it up, and build a doctrine on it.

I am SO tired of denominations. I've been denied communion because of my "sin" of not being a catholic, and others have implied that because your ministers are not part of the apostolic succession, actually their presiding at Holy Communion is not "valid". Which is why our ordained ministers are not able to lead communion services in other churches. And as for lay people being able to do something that is reserves only for the clergy; anyone would think we had suggested taking a day trip to hell!
In other churches I've been told "it doesn't matter if you're already a preacher, if you join our church you'll have to train again - our way." I'm tired of hearing Christians arguing that only they/their group have it right and if anyone disagrees their salvation is questionable.

Sorry Gids, I appear to have got a bit carried away there.

Sorry? Don't be. Like the candy bar ad.... you are "hangry". LOL But blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. This blessed change about to rock the boat of religious Christianity will come about simply because His people hunger for more of Him, for the "free indeed" He promised us.

Stay the course. It is about to get better.... much better.

    Gideon,
You wrote, "...because His people hunger for more of Him.."
    - Good point.
    ---
How far/much are you willing to go?
    - ..hunger for more of Him.
    - That is #1 question at this hour.

    Blessings,

We somehow have been taught that when we get saved, that we know Him. But even Paul said that his heart hungered for a deeper closeness... "that I might know Him".

We have stopped short of the goal, learning how to actually abide in Him. It is in that becoming one with Him that we see the shackles of sin and self love melt away. It is in that abiding in Him that our joy flows like a river.

I love the Word of God, for it wants to lead us into the place where it is no more us that live, but Christ who lives in us. But we must take care to understand that knowledge about God is not the same as knowing Him.

Can we imagine what it would be like to have prayer and the manifest presence of God an ongoing, uninterrupted thing, with Christ always there? It is glorious. It is our birthright. And it is about to overtake us....when we cannot live without Him.

    Thanks for your post.

    blessings,

    Gideon

I 'get it' that you are tired of these things ...
and I understand the frustration ... ()
and though tiredness doesn't generally 'feel good' ...
I do see your tiredness as: you being in a 'good place'.

    (Let me 'splain! :D)
You are obviously no longer content with 'status quo' Christianity ...
God has opened your eyes, done this work in you.

And He has placed in your heart a desire for 'something more'.

Were it me, I would be thinking to spend more time alone with Him ...
asking Him what He is wanting to do with me ... wanting me to do ...
and then, I would surrender control to Him ...
trusting in His Love and Goodness toward me ...
and in the power of the Holy Spirit ...
to accomplish His purposes in my life.

You see, my experience has been ...
that when God allows us to become very discontent with things,
it is often because He is wanting to do something 'more' in our lives ...

    ... just sayin' :yellowheart:

Those are some powerfully wise words, dear sister. God tells us that they that sow in tears will real in joy, and I have found it true in my own walk.

We need to finally get tired of our shallow and bland Christian religion with all its trapping and lack of passion and purpose. We are the salt of the earth, but whether we can admit it right now, we have lost our savor. Savorless salt. Ouch.

But there is a deeper call. A one-on-one with each of us and God. We need to finally get tired of US, our normal every day carnal us, our lack of fruit and our now-avoided empty prayer closets. Tired of habitual sins that never get defeated. In short, what the Bible calls the OLD us.

You see, we cannot put on our new man until we put off the old one first. When we finally get so hungry, so defeated, or so desperate to finally walk in victory, our breakthrough is fast approaching.

When we are no longer content to know about Jesus, and instead, hunger to actually KNOW Him, to be one with Him, then we are finally ready to go from worms in cocoons to butterflies. The world is about to be amazed. Heck, so are we!

Look. I get it. It sounds hard. Self (the old us, earthly minded and vulnerable to sin) cannot be killed. Self discipline, self effort will never produce spiritual fruit. NEVER. We cannot defeat self.

BUT.....and I pray everyone reading these words takes them to heart.... we CAN reckon our old self as dead, adopting as our faith-filled testimony that "I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ now liveth in me". We are about to discover what "born again" actually means.

Tears are coming. Good tears. Repentant tears. Tears that will cause the seeds of faith to sprout to new life in each of our hearts. And what follows will be nothing sort of miraculous. God's church, made up of millions of saints glowing with God's light will be awakened and filled with God's very life. Acts part deaux.

Awakened to what? To the reality of our new natures, and how we can walk in them... in Him... abiding 24/7. Are you sitting down? God has chosen us.... US!..... to be the generation called to usher the return of our king. And as rag tag religious as we find ourselves today, we are about to be made glorious to meet our future husband.

We are the blessed children called to experience the actual latter rain... which... are we listening?... will be GREATER than the former in the book of Acts. Glory!

We will discover the HOW of holiness, where we are "kept by the power of God through faith", capable of sin, yes, but not sinning willfully in any area. God will not only cause us to want to obey Him but then to give us the power to actually obey in all things.... and LOVE it!

No matter how lukewarm and sin-riddled, cold, hopeless or backslidden you might be, know this. I am at the head of this line, buddy. LOL. And I promise, if you refuse to be content with religion as usual, and hunger for more of God.... AND His righteousness....we are about to be amazed.

I beg you, dear reader, let us not rest content with just forgiveness and an endless parade of Sunday Services and church stuff. There is more.... MUCH more!

Aren't you sick of Laodecia? We're not hot, not cold, just... well, you know.... LOL. That is all about to go bye-bye.

When we cry our to God with a hunger for real manifested righteousness in our lives, for spiritual fruits to grow in our character, we will be rewarded far beyond what we can now even comprehend. We will be led as to how to walk as true overcomers, victorious over the world, the flesh and the devil, with sin under our feet as we abide in the vine.

"Impossible!" you say? Ha! Boy, are you in for a surprise! BUT.... it starts with brokenness and hunger, with a real desire to defeat the sins that so easily beset you. Faith grows in broken up soil.... do not fear it.

    blessings,

    Gids
