My son just hucked this little rubber mallet/drumstick at me while I wasn't paying attention and it got me square in the face.

Guess he could tell by the look on my face that he did wrong.

Your kids are the only people in the world that will do that to you and you will then offer THEM a hug so THEY feel better. lol

My kid once got me square in the face with a glass ornament, thinking it was plastic when we were goofing around. The smack drew blood and he freaked out! I thought it was funny and it didn't even hurt at all. Needless to say, we double check for the bouncy plastic ornaments to play around with! LOL

And yes, it's often us who has to go to them to let them know we're OK. Lesson learned!

Way back, my then 18 mo first born head butted me and gave me a big fat lip. Man, that hurt. He had no clue what he did, of course, but he cried because mommy was crying.
