Orthodox hedging of currency

I’m not much of an investor, but I do hedge in hard assets.

Would hedging be considered burying my talent?

How is this not a talent? I know plenty of bad investors; good ones are definitely skilled.

The thinking goes: If I’m not using it to God’s glory and just hedging it, I’m burying what He gave me.

I would think as long you give alms ( Matthew 6:1-4), you are not burying your talents you are just allocating some of your resources. The Lord says that at the very least, the servant should have put his money in the bank not in the ground ( Matthew 25:27 within the overall parable Matthew 25:14-30).

could you be doing it to ultimately use it for God's glory?
