ahhhhh ok
well tell me if Im hearing you right.....are you talking about subjects then...should we have threads moved that discuss Grace (Christian law)into the Hebrew Christian forum and threads that discuss Torah(MJ law) into the Torah observant forum?
Thoughts everyone?
I don't think that the Lord wants that sort of segregation.I haven't read through this whole thread so I hope it won't be closed before I can respond when I am more awake tomorrow.
But why do we need so much segregation?
Is there really a need for all of this division. Well, what ever we do, lets do our best to keep it simple.
That reminds me of a time I was talking to a young MJ guy coming home from a christian surfers meeting(picking up my son too) and we were sharing and he said "Praise Jesus, I mean Yeshua, I mean where am II don't think that the Lord wants that sort of segregation.
But this whole forum, like the entire Christian religion is segregated.
Everybody thinks that their version/understanding of the truth and their group's practices are the best and only correct ones and everyone else's concepts/practices are wrong therefore they separate themselves from one another so they don't get contaminated by or be offended by or offend one another.
It is so sad.
I like that idea.. then it is clear where everyone stands by where it is a welcomed post.
So it should only be used as a safety valve if we need it. And most of us here know the respectful balance we've worked hard for - who posts on a regular basis and who may come in just to upset that balance. I think we all are mature enough not to use it as a punishment.
As to the icon issue, I'm referring to the stark difference between Jews who were born into a form of Judaism and now accept the Gospel of Yeshua, and the Gentiles who were born into a form of Christianity and now reject that to embrace Torah observance as Israel. There are two extreme ends to this forum, Jewish Christians and Torah observant Gentiles (one law). The two can never meet, as they are diametrically opposed in their theologies. YET, we hold the same icon.
So, when you solve this issue, and separate out the two with individual icons, this situation will continue ad nauseum. Like it does over at CARM.
I find that Christian forums have yet to respect the divisions between those of the Messianic faith. This has been my main focus of complaint. I don't fight to have one eradicated, I want respectable fences. Wow, and look who desires a 'fence'?

To be fair, i'm not for the icon split, as opposed to using the two forums at the top the way they were intended.
I think you need to leave the titles alone and let the Torah observant Messianic Believers forum be for one law theology. Let the Messianic Hebrew Christian forum be for 'faith only' theology. Mind you, I use the term faith only to identify the way they see it, not me. I do not see it as faith only. But you should understand what I'm getting at.
If you use these forums the way they were intended this would eliminate the need to created another icon and divide out the people more. These divisions (forums) were placed here years ago, and should be used.
You don't want to know what happens over at CARM. I think contra said something about it months back that I chuckled over. Something about 'doing time' over there. It's and endless circle of one law arguments.
That's gonna be too stiff. MJ lovers of Torah where we've always been, main forum. Christian Hebrews in the sub forum that was created for them. And I guess we could do away with the Torah-Observant subforum, as there are more TO Messies than not. How's that, you think?
This is exactly what I have been trying to describe and promote. I would love to see this forum set up and run that way.I agree that an Icon split is not needed. The situation here is very similar to that in our Lutheran Forum; everyone has the same Icon, there is a Common forum, a forum for Confessionals (like me), and one for liberals; members know where they belong, and know how to behave when they venture into each others Forums. There is the odd hiccup from time to time, but it does work very well for us.
I think your post says it the bestDesert Rose you're stuck with us. You understand us MJs with your little cross icon better than some here with the scroll or menorah.
And I can safely say that also about Chava and Yonah. Our words define us better than our icons.

does everyone like this idea...it would mean topics that are not common to both groups need to be made in the respective forums or moved there and common ideas would be shared in the main forumThis is exactly what I have been trying to describe and promote. Just everyone be groovy.
I always get into the "groove" here on CFEasy G (G²);58984369 said:Love the term "groovy"...
Outside of that, I'd tend to think that it'd be simple to make a place where those wishing to have engagement with people in differing camps can come together---and make it clear up front that a thread invites those with differing viewpoints to get involved so no one is surprised or complaining about "opposing opinions".....whereas those who wish to talk on topics solely with those who agree with them can go to the seperate forums.
