  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

I finally got around to watching the first two episodes. I don't like cliffhangers, because by the time the second half rolls around, I usually have forgotten key details, so if I know there will be a two parter, I will wait until the second half is out before watching. Fortunately that had been the only thing I was spoiled on (glad I didn't see The Master's photo above before watching as well! ;) )
I'll try to be kinder than The Master and put any spoilers under wraps, haha! :burglar:

    What I liked::bigeye:
I'm not sure what this says about the writing or acting, but I was able to correctly predict a few of the "surprises"! Yay! I like when I get things right!

That O was the main bad guy. I hadn't guessed exactly who he was, so that was fun. Just going by how he was introduced, and his behavior, he just screamed "lookit, i'm secretly evil, lookit me!" His gadgets in that tiny house in the middle-of-nowhere just used a tad more electricity and internet connection than was believable. (that should have tipped me off to Master-y deceit, but alas it didn't.)

When The Master said Gallifrey was destroyed, I immediately thought, "yeah, if you're not lying, you did it. You would." Of course he did.

From the first episode, I thought we wouldn't ever get any real answers about the aliens. We didn't.
If they ever show up again in a future episode, we'd better get some decent answers!

The other bad guy, whose name I have now forgotten, was working for/a patsy to O. Weird that in the word VOR, the "O" was a different design, just another giveaway.
He also disappeared at the end without consequence, so I assume he will be in a future episode.

I really enjoyed Ryan and Graham's excitement over the spy gear, and how happy Graham was to use his gadget. :) Ryan didn't really get to use his successfully though. :( Hopefully they were able to keep their stuff and use it again in the future, it would be fun.

The Master's excitement at "winning". So close. So close. "Missed it by that much!"

Loved The Master's Tardis. Beautiful. 10/10 want to see again in the future. Probably won't, Who knows where The Doctor stashed it. It would be a good idea if she stashed it inside her own Tardis... safer than somewhere on Earth.

The Master's shrinking gadget! I was hoping to see that thing again. The classic Master had great ideas and weapons, they need to bring more of them back. Especially his "chess board" or whatever it is that displaces people. I'll have to go back and see exactly what it did.
    :hypno:

The motorcycle chase was almost cool. Good idea, very poor execution of camera angles. But still made it to the 'what I liked' category, because motorcycles and the use of.

    What I didn't like: :lost:

The Doctor. *sigh* I really am trying to like her, I really am, but she's making it so hard. Is it the odd acting? The poor script? The weird faces? The inability to appear menacing when supposed to be? The inability to be likable? I can't pin point any one thing. She is still at the bottom of my Doctor list from where I placed her last season. Rise above, Doctor! You can do it!

Yaz. She just needs more character development. I simply didn't care one way or the other when her life was in danger. The police department she works for must have some real doozies of probational officers if she's their best one! She did do more these two episodes, so it is possible this season will give her some much needed development. I sure hope so, I like to care about the companions.

The aliens. Again. They started off with so much potential! But like almost every alien baddy from last season, just ended with a fizzle of disappointment. At least The Master was fun.

The color. I don't know if it's the way it's filmed, but it seemed dim, the colors didn't feel right, and overall made it seem a bit depressing. Is this just me?

The Tardis. This is by far my least favorite design of the interior. It's ugly. I had hoped that they would've given it a better design from last season, but no, still uglified. My favorite design is from Eleven's second half before he left, and Twelves redesign, which kept most of the previous. It amazes me how they could go from something so high-tech, clean, beautiful, and bright to something so dingy and ugly.

    What I think overall::idea1:

These two episodes were by and far better than any from the 11th season, I enjoyed the overall story and there were interesting bad guys who held my attention. There were a few failings with the aliens which is par for the course from last season. But, this season is off to a much better start, so I have hope that the alien bad guys in later episodes will actually be the scary bad guys they are built up to be. I also have hope that the future episodes will be better written and engaging. Maybe 2020 will be the 13th Doctor's year to shine. I can hope.

Welcome back Master, I have no doubt we will see you again some day!

Episode 4 -- Forgot the title and meh anyway.

Episode 5 -- "Fugitive of the Judoon"
I don't have anything good to say about this episode, so here are my gripes:

:destroy: So much wrong. Retconning is a big pet peeve of mine. Doctor Who has done it quite a bit and thus far has been annoying but for the most part written in such a way that it kinda makes sense in the Whoniverse. But this episode took retconning to a different level, basically rewritting all of Who-lore.

:boredsleep: Not my favorite companion, but a well-loved fan favorite returns. I would assume such a character returning would be a big deal and have more story time, or at least a decent return. Not so here. I believe this character returning served only four purposes:
    1. To make the fans squeal with delight (I'm sure it worked on those who love the character).
    2. To get rid of the three companions so the Doctor could go on the main story line with the other woman. The three companions had absolutely nothing to do in this episode story-wise. A shame.
    3. To banter with the said three companions.
    4. To impart to the three companions a *cryptic message.
Not one of these four things is worthy of a major character returning. This character deserved a better return story.

*This drove me bonkers. :destroy: The returning character had enough time to banter with the three companions for quite awhile (about half the episode or so), yet waited until the absolute last minute to impart to them this SUPER IMPORTANT MESSAGE THAT ABSOLUTELY MUST BE PASSED ON TO THE DOCTOR!!!! During the time the character was bantering with the companions, there was more than enough time to not only impart the SUPER IMPORTANT MESSAGE, but also elaborate on it and give details so that the Doctor would not be kept guessing on what it means. There was absolutely no reason for the message to be so cryptic except to keep the audience guessing until the season finale or whenever the cryptic message meaning is revealed. Cryptic messages in tv and movies have to be done right or it ends up like what happened in this episode. Nonsensical and obviously meant just for the audience.

Okay. This is a problem for me. Why was Pre-First Doctor's Tardis a police box? When the First Doctor stole it, it was a generic looking silver pod. Because the chameleon circuit was broken, it got stuck as a police box due to the place and time he first landed on Earth. And then the Doctor left it that way because he liked the look, the chameleon circuit being broken was just an excuse since he later proved he could fix it. So again, why was Pre-First Doctor's Tardis a police box? Was it explained in episode and I missed it? Maybe it will be explained later. Doubtful.

My expectations for this season get lower with every episode. I'm really disappointed with the direction the show has been heading. The writing and acting have also been disappointing.

I have a few suspicions about what is going on...it would explain a few things especially episode 5 ...hope I made wrong...I hate guessing the ending. There is only one film I have ever watched where I didn't guess the ending...The Game staring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn.

I am not one who is thrilled that the new Doctor is a woman but I am giving it a chance, but I am definitely put off by the new "history" of the Doctor. This has really made me uninterested in much of anything new that comes from the world of Doctor Who. I am most partial to the classic series, but I do like much of the reboot up through Peter Capaldi's Doctor.
