Give thanks for the number of people who signed the petition and pray that they will have a positive impact upon the Eritrean authorities. Please pray for Weini and Samual and ask the Lord to strengthen Eritrean Christians to forgive and love their enemies and to maintain their faith. Pray that the Lord will grant Open Doors co-workers access to believers, to let them know they are not alone. And pray for Isaias Afwerki, the President of Eritrea, that he would feel burdened with guilt about what he is doing to the Christians.

Wednesday 6th September - Kenya

Open Doors recently reported that Mislims in Wajir, north east Kenya, are accepting Christ, enraging Muslims in the village. We are also aware of some Muslim background believers in Wajir who have converted to Islam, because they could not stand the pressure. Ask God to strengthen and unite the Christian community and to give them the courage to follow Jesus.

On 3rd of July a seminar held by Pastor Jamadari Adwoi in Entebbe was invaded by Muslims. A number of people including four gunmen, entered the meeting and started shooting and throwing stones at the participants. A number of people were injured and one car was damaged during the attack. The pastor managed to escape unharmed.

Please pray for the Christian families in the Mitziton community, who have been evicted from their land by the authorities and caciques (local landlords) because they have become Christians. Please pray also for 20 brothers in Candelaria community who have been threatened with eviction from their homes by the caciques and local authorities; only traditional Catholocis are allowed to live in their area.

Pray for Pastor David Raj who was attacked on 18th June when he was preaching in his Church in Bhillai, Chhatisgargh state. David and his wife have also had false charges of forcefully converting people of other faiths to Christianity levied against them. After enduring fifteen days of police detention, they are awaiting trial outside prison. Please pray for speedy justice for them and that they will continue to put their hope in the Lord.

Friday 15th September - India

Pray for Brother Andrias Soni, 60, in Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh. He was recently beaten up by fundamentalists while distributing tracts and is under trial for forceful conversions. In a recent conversation with him, he said it was becoming and increasingly difficult to carry out evangelistic activities. He said, "The atmosphere is very suffocating." Please pray for God to strengthen and encourage His people in Jabalpur.

Thursday 7th December - Ethiopia

The church in Asosa, western Ethiopia led more than 13 Muslim-background believers (MBBs) to the Lord, disciplined them over time, baptised them and then sent them back to the dominant Muslim community of Begi. The young believers, however, were chased away. Fortunately they all escaped the attack and are currently hiding in various places. Please pray for a place of safety for these MBBs and that regional administrators take the necessary steps to protect their Christian citizens.
