  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

    Good news!
One Covid vaccine cuts infection rate in all age groups
Unlike most countries, the UK prioritized getting at least one dose into arms over getting the full set of two immunizations. To do this, they set the interval between doses at 12 weeks rather than the three weeks used for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, I believe. This decision is looking pretty good right now - the efficacy (counting 3 weeks for the vaccine to take effect) is 65% for only one dose of the vaccine(s), rising to 90% with two doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

On a rather tangential note, the following graphic shows progress towards herd immunity in the US as well as individual states, under varying assumptions as to accuracy of cases reported:

I'm glad too, because January was the darkest most uninspiring month of my entire life. That was proper hunkering down that was.

It's green shoots, but until the entire world has this under control, I'm not celebrating. I'll gladly wait for my vaccine if it means somebody in India can have it.

Two doses are still preferable for longer and better immunity, but it is good to see even one dose does some good.

In NY its the cities and larger towns that are doing good, the country is still struggling to get them out to those far distant from each other. loosing JjJ was bad as they could drive it to shut in and those with car problems with major refrigeration. Now they need to drive them in which is taking a lot of time.
