about my statements that heathens/non-believers are unable
to choose to believe in Jesus and His gospel.

Although men were separated from God, they were naturally drawn to worship, they just chose to worship other idols they "could see". When Jesus came, men became drawn to Him by the Holy Spirit, making us able to worship the right God as now we are able to see Him through Jesus because He is the manifestation of the Father. But if we are drawn to an idol or to God himself is only because by default we were created that way by Him.

I think I understand what you are saying; it is very clear.

One thing > Adam and Eve sinned, after being without sin. So, they had the advantage of not being in sin, when they first chose to sin.

But humans now are born in sin, and are effected by "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" > in Ephesians 2:2. So, humans without Jesus are now in a degraded state much worse than how Adam and Eve were, before their fall. So, I would say their ability now is much less, for knowing God, than the ability of Adam and Eve before the fall.

And we see how even while Adam and Eve were perfect creatures without sin, still they became functional to fall. So, I can see how humans now are less able to choose what is good.

My statement, which seems to have caused some confusion , simply states that Adam and Eve, though created without sin and perfect, were given free will, the ability to choose. They chose to disobey God thus became spiritually dead. The ability to choose remained intact.
