Does any of you are familliar with the French catholic scool of exegesis.

Most of the best apologists of the Holy Church are french jesuits or laymen theologian.
I wonder what my catholic brothers here have as opinion on them.

I would quote people like Claude Tresmontant or Jean Carmignac, or other that fought against german and american exegesis.

What are the main points of difference between the different schools?
The american school do a lot of phenomenological analysis, like what would happened if this sect had more influence than an other. Cf Bart Ehrman.
The German school generally study an hypothetical gnostic origin of the Gospel.

The French school study more the Hebrew material like Dead sea scrolls or try to back-translate the Gospel into hebrew to analyse it.
