The unarmed woman who was shot in the back after tearing down a Nazi flag flying in front of the gunman’s Oklahoma home has sued her assailant for negligence, according to court records.

In a January 28 District Court petition, Kyndal McVey, 26, accuses Alexander Feaster of acting with “reckless disregard” in connection with the shooting last year outside Feaster’s residence in the town of Hunter (pop. 173).

McVey’s gunshot injuries required multiple surgeries and several weeks of hospitalization. Her lawsuit is seeking in excess of $75,000 in damages for “mental and physical pain and suffering,” medical expenses, lost time, and “change in physical and mental condition.”

Feaster was arrested following the shooting and charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, a felony.

Feaster, free on $75,000 bail, is scheduled for a March 5 preliminary hearing in the shooting case. He claims to have “acted in self-defense”

In court filings, Feaster--who spent 10 years in the military and was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq--has portrayed himself as a “patriotic citizen” and “loyal American” whose political beliefs had subjected him to threats, harassment, and the frequent theft of his flags

If he'd displayed the same "patriotism" in the US Army in, say, 1944 he'd probably have been the one getting shot.

Feaster, free on $75,000 bail, is scheduled for a March 5 preliminary hearing in the shooting case. He claims to have “acted in self-defense”

Feaster's attorney said he had a "sincere and reasonable fear of imminent peril of death or great bodily harm" and that he used his firearm in a "defensive" application.

"He had been alerted by a neighbor a few days prior that there was another plot by 'antifa activists' to vandalize his home and that ... was a threat to his life," a motion read.

Prosecutors argued on July 2 that authorities contended that "the defendant relies on the notion that his use of force stopped a wildly imaginary attack."

Glad to know that. Maybe NK can take Pakistan’s place as a staunch US ally in the War on Terror.

why have Neo Nazis become totally obsessed with killing all the Jewish people in the world now?

"become" totally obsessed?

Pretty sure "eliminating the Jews" was one of their values right from the start.

"All apples are fruits, not all fruits are apples"

Yes, the Nazis embraced certain socialistic views, however, if you're using them as a means of discrediting socialism, you may be barking up the wrong tree from a strategic debate standpoint.

If you want to discredit socialism and dissect the failures of socialism, there's a litany of former Eastern Bloc countries (that were far more socialist than Nazi Germany) you could use for doing that without having to invoke the one that was behind the holocaust.

Nazis borrow the mass-organizational strategies of socialists (targeting large groups of working-class men), but their ideology was from the Right, not the Left. They pretended to champion traditional values, for one thing, which Socialists on the Left did not do.

Correct.

While I vehemently oppose socialism (in the true definition of the term), and have done so quite vocally...

I also oppose when people try to use Nazi Germany as an example of 'why socialism is bad'.

It's a misinformed argument as it ignores the fact that Hitler actually had a lot of anti-socialist policies from an economic standpoint, and just waters down the arguments against socialism that I try to make.

If Hitler's Germany was all that socialist, they wouldn't have had such a feud with Stalin's Russia.

Hitler's Germany was terrible for a variety of other reasons other than the few things they happened to be socialistic on.

One big difference between Nazis and actual socialists was the underlying worldview. Nazis were influenced by occultic, highly metaphysical worldviews that saw racial categories not just in material terms, but even sometimes in spiritual terms. Hitler believed in all sorts of occult stuff and magical thinking, as did many other Nazis. Most socialists, on the other hand, were materialists.
