I really did like that Presidency. I think most Australians did.

True, it's a feast day, so it's ok to overindulge, especially with mashed potatoes generously covered with turkey gravy. :yum:

I think it's the starch (and sugar) that puts people sleep after dinner, not the turkey. (Gratuitous opinion not necessary for the thread). :D

Tulc, cut back on the coffee tomorrow (make room for the mashed potatoes).

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I am not interested in that kind of remark.

My comment is purely around the manner in which President Obama engaged with Australia. He did an enormous amount to restore the lost faith of his predecessor. Although since then our perspective on Transpacific relationships has declined significantly under the current administration.

Pacific nations are now gravitating towards China which have taken a strong lead in the region, as seen with ASEAN and APEC forums; and the massive investments from China in the region. Presidents of each transpacific nation including China, attended those forums. President Trump elected not to attend.

Yep, something like that is what you'd use to start your thread where that could be discussed.

Funny He never mentioned being unhappy with me to me. That seems like something He'd bring up.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I pointed that in post #22. :sorry:
tulc(will watch for that thread he's recommended MyLordYeshuaTheMessiah start) :)

And he has received his reward.
    Matt 6:1-2
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

While there's nothing wrong with helping out a food bank, I am always circumspect when it comes to a narcissist like Barack Obama. Is it out of compassion or for his own glory? I mean, the man cannot shut up about how great he thinks he is. Sorry to be such a cynic...

I disagreed with Mr. Obama on a number of issues, but overall I thought he was a good president and a good person. Please show me exactly where scripture says that it is wrong to support Obama.

I will not be serving food at the homeless shelter on Thanksgiving because I will be traveling today, but I will be out ringing bells for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season.

Would've been far more impressive if he'd done something that wasn't trumpeted across the news media. But, of course, his goal wasn't really to be helpful but to virtue signal and make a spectacle of his "charitable" deed.

    Matthew 6:1-4
1 "Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

...wouldn't that sort of defeat the purpose of trying to encourage others to also help other people? Which is what he was doing yesterday.

    or it was. :)

...or he was trying to encourage other people to help out at Thanksgiving?/Christmas?

May God bless President Obama for his compassionate heart. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving myself but I commend him on his kindness and charity toward the poor today. He's a good man.
