I've been trying to find information on numerology and if it means anything or is it one of those things that people look too deep into?
Thank you,

God's Number System throughout the Bible.
1 - Wholeness. Singleness.
2 - Multiplication.
3 - Power of God
4 - The Creation
5 - The Grace of God
6 - Man
7 - Perfection
8 - New Beginnings
9 - The Holy Spirit
10 - (The) Law
11 - Chaos
12 - Government
13 - Rebellion
40 - Testing
400 - Silence
To plug in a few examples:
1 - 'If your eye be single your whole body will be full of light' (Matthew 6:22-23)
3 - Signs, miracles, wonders. 'Holy, Holy, Holy'. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Death, Burial, Resurrection.
The Lord Jesus reinstates Peter 3x after Peter denies Him 3 x (John 21:15-25)
4 - 4 Great angels of the Elements (Matthew 24:31), 4 Cardinal directions, 4 Living Creatures (Revelation 4:6-11) etc.
2 - 'Be fruitful and multiply (subdue the earth)' (Genesis 1:27-28), Noah led the animals into the ark in pairs of 2 for the purpose of re-population of the wildlife - Genesis 6:19-20).
9 - 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7-11), 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
A more complicated sequence of numbers is found in the parable of the wise and foolish virgins told by the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:1-13).
The number's 5 (the grace of God) and 10 (The Law).
5 + 5 = 10.
10 - 5 = 5.
5 Foolish virgins ran out of oil. 5 Wise virgins did not.
These virgins represent the Church because unbelievers remain lost apart from Christ.. and the unbelieving have no oil (the guidance of the Holy Spirit's anointing through the baptism of the Holy Spirit).
The Law (10) states that half of the Church (5) doesn't make it to heaven (In the Parable that the Lord Jesus told).
In any case, you can plug numbers in as keys throughout the Bible.. God does have a number system and certain numbers or repetition of numbers are not mere coincidence.
Especially in the Parables, if you want real Kingdom theology (without the opinions, differing belief systems, disagreements, and denominations..etc).
The Lord God also combines numbers in many instances of scripture and this goes to signify other things.. it requires the spirit of wisdom and revelation to understand the things He hides.
'
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings
is to search out a matter.'
(Proverbs 25:2)
'17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him'
(Ephesians 1:17)
'Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.'
(Jeremiah 33:3)
'6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
even the hidden
wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known
it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed
them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know
them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.'
(1 Corinthians 2:6-15)
One more thing..
God's number system is directly referenced in the book of Revelation.
'Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number
is Six hundred threescore
and six.'
(Revelation 13:18)
This verse specifically calls for wisdom and one who has understanding to calculate. This falls in line with many other spiritual truths in God's Word.
No one could know the purpose and meaning of God's design without the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Grace and peace to you..
