The loss of the Notre dame cathedral adds to the things of value forsaken by our generation.
As with moral and fear of God we lose (have lost) our wonderful churches and our heritage

These things has been cherished and guarded by our ancestors for hundreds of years, but one by one they're falling on our watch. What a disgrace !

It all went south when we forgot the Lord our God and became our own idols.
