I read that it's possible for small amounts of matter and antimatter to come from nothing for a short period of time.
The "nothingness" from which the particles arise has the potential to be a source of the particles. But, by definition, true nothingness can have no potential at all; therefore the "nothingness" posited as the source of the particles is not actually nothing.

Right.

The most nothingness you can get is infinitesimal - which is subjectively undefined.
