Not Shaving

Shaving produces micro-cuts in the skin. The skin is the body's biggest and most important barrier to pathogens. Saying that not having hair, especially pubic hair, is cleaner is just not true. My doctor, who has been practicing for 25 years, said she has seen a big increase in skin infections in the last decade, as pubic-hair removal has become commonplace. Just something to consider.

True, shaving to the skin is not the best of ideas. Not to mention as you said those tiny cuts everywhere can get infected and breed problems. I shave with a electric shaver so its not all down to the skin. Same for the wife.
