I tried to donate blood for the first time yesterday, and I wasn't allowed! In the course of questions they ask, had I ever had a heart problem? Nope - I've even been checked out! They checked everything out after a GP picked up Premature Ventricular Contractions and sent me to the hospital, saying I was fine and no probs! "Ok well you need a GP to 'okay' you for donating blood" Though this didn't come out until after she'd taken my blood pressure etc...I wonder if she saw something?
Err...I just said they DID check me out and I'm FINE.
Grr! PVCs are completely benign! Tonnes of people have them, WHY would they prevent me from being able to donate blood?
