well, i like the south because its busy and fun. but the north's good because it snows and mountains, but mainly cause i have a lot of friends there. i like both the same. i live in central california, i mean central, 10 miles away from the center, so everywhere's cool!

you like the culture of rich pricks and illigal imigrants?

Not everyone down here in SoCal is rich and/or a prick. Matter of fact, we have a fairly sizeable middle and lower income segment down this way and many people give to charity, are kind to neighbors, small children and/or animals, and help out people in need. And, yes, we have culcha down here too. Opera, symphony . . . why, we even have NEWSPAPERS and BOOKS and whatnot. Egad, perish the thought. People down here actually can read.

And, regardless of the fact that Duck and Cover, er, Duncan Hunter is a rep down this way too, and his thoughts on the border problem (he always, always, always, says to build a border fence as THE way to solve all the problems of this part of the US  ), the illegal immigrant problem is more illusory than real.

That said, I prefer NorCal. :D

NoCal.

In fact...we need to secede from the rest of the state.

Long Live the State of Jefferson!!
I agree but where would you draw the line? We can call it the state of Jefferson if you want. Don't know why unless that is your name but it has a good ring to it! What's california mean anyway?

I called it Jefferson because that's what's been proposed in the past.

http://www.jeffersonstate.com/

Check out this quote from the site:

On June 10th, 1993, the California State Assembly voted 46 to 26 in favor of putting a measure on the state ballot that would have given California voters a chance to vote on whether they liked the idea of splitting California into multiple states.

Political observers were surprised that the state-split movement got that far in the legal process. While the bill authorizing the vote by the people later died in the State Senate, it did pass the Assembly, and did so by cutting across party, ideological and geographic lines.

If you go north on I-5 past Weed, you can see a barn with 'State of Jefferson' painted big and bold on the side!!

It's actually been proposed that Jefferson would be composed of the northernmost California counties and the southernmost Oregon counties. In one of several proposals, the southernmost California counties would be Mendocino, Glenn, Butte, and Plumas counties.

Personally, I'd put the line through Ukiah-Yuba City-Lake Tahoe...but that's just one man's opinion.

I am so embarrassed  you are right! Maybe Guintoli would be better, that would cut out Arcata. But Fortuna is definitely in northern Ca. I will leave it up to you.

LOl !

I used to own a little 8X24 travel trailer in the Town and Country trailer Park there on Guintoli Lane after I came home from the Marines - that was way back in '79 if my memory is correct. Never cared much for Fortuna although I did a lot of salmon fishing on the Eel off the 12th street exit and the next one at Kenmar. My older kids live in Arcata area, one is a trucker and the other works for one of the casinos. Always preferred north of Eureka as far as going for a drive, spending a day, etc. Use to scuba dive off Trinidad head.

forgive me. am just rambling with some memories of where I was raised.

I enjoy the rambling. I have also did some scuba diving out of Trinidad. The visability was usually real bad. Jetties were pretty good at times. I play more now in the Alps. Spent a little over a month in the wilderness this year. Love to pack some tanks into some of the deeper lakes. I know some people that live in the Town and Country Trailer Villa (I think that is what it is now called).
